Mini Maker

The watercolor paper slate pieces have been glued to a template. I like the color and the color variations but am not sure about the texture. Before I cut the tiles I sealed the paint with a satin sealer. It looks too glossy to me. The sealer also made the texture of the paper more apparent. It almost has a wood grain look. Maybe I'll try lightly sanding it. Maybe not. I may start over.

You mention that you don't care for the finish of your floor, just remember this point,  that all your furniture, rugs, kitchen cabinets, and other décor items you add to the first floor will cover a great deal of it. The floor will become a background item rather than the focal point that it is with nothing in there yet.

One other thing, there exists a sealer on the market that says it is a "no shine" one - flatter than matte. I'm drawing a blank on the name right now. Maybe you could try something like that.
