Shingles and curtains.

So I shingled most of the roof:

but not the back, apparently...! I put 1/4" dowel along the roof lines-- thinking of painting it white just because it ended up with some wood glue on it... Still trying to decide which stain to put on it. Might use the same as the porch planks, might go lighter...

I worked some trim in the bedroom:

Needs a bit of spackle and some touchup. Also cleaned up all the wiring; spent some time making this box out of cardboard to hide the power strip in:

One can reach in the hole and switch the strip on or off. The side of the box isn't very rigid; one can move it around a bit which is helpful if one is trying to get at the plugs inside...

I've been working in the kitchen; needs some more trim, of course (it never ends...!), and a front door:

The potholders are waiting for me to put some sealer on the wall, then I'll put little nails and glue them to the wall above the stove. I might remake them; I'm not quite happy with them. The stove hood, I made out of balsa and screendoor net and glued to the bottom of a bashed Michael's hutch. The little shelf by the sink, I made of basswood; its main purpose is to hide the wire from the porch light! cool.gif

I found the flower paintings online and made the paneling out of thin balsa. I had a hard time deciding what to do about the kitchen paneling because I had to fit in the appliances somehow; this was what I came up with to make the paneling a bit more interesting in the spots where there isn't a large kitchen machine...!

Had fun making the curtains-- no-sew, let them set on skewers with spray starch. Made the whole room look so much different! They look a bit dingy in the photos because of the flash; they look much crisper in real life and hopefully I can capture that in my "final photos" when I get out the camera stand and lighting and try to make a decent job of it... I am thinking that I should try to find some thinner skewers though so I can try to make finer ruffles...

Edit: those Dr. Seuss-looking things on the tops of the cabinets are erasers that I found at Hobby Lobby today-- a kettle, a lidded pot, and some sort of handled container. Nope, they definitely don't fit this room...! But they are pretty much to scale.
