Piddling along...

Well all the trim is on (except for the long curls that go on the porch), and the shutters are painted and ready for a sealant, and the tower is affixed. At this point I am doing paint touchups, and there is quite a bit of that to do. The porch steps are assembled and ready go on. The two main things to do to the exterior are the chimney finish (I plan to use paperclay), and the finish on the base of the house (probably a paperclay brick finish also).

Wandering inside a bit-- I made a card template of the drawing room ceiling, and painted it with primer. Well that didn't do much for me, so I hunted around and found some life-sized wallpaper that I had gotten from a thrift store; the back of it was an off-cream with subtle texture, so I glued the card to it. (The front is a cheery design with orangey flowers that I will probably find a place for in the Willow.) I had found a cheapie vinyl table-runner at the dollar store this afternoon and wanted to make ceiling decor out of it:

After some thought, I cut out some bits and glued them on:

The upside-down ceiling lamp will be hung at that central point so as to position it center with respect to the front bay... This ceiling is an odd shape. I'll take this template out and seal the whole thing before I do anything with it; I am thinking of framing it a bit, so as to make two distinct sections of it...
