Slow progress!
Well I had to take some time out over the weekend and get the Orchid ready to ship out-- pics in my gallery. It is a bit sad to see the little brick house go, I guess, but it was time, and I hope the recipients will enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it.
Meanwhile, back at the bannisters, I finally got around to putting on the third floor. There is a reason that one should do it when the instructions say to, and your humble correspondent now has unsightly gaps here and there. Oh well; that's what trim is for, I guess.
I glued down the 1st flooring, and worked on the 2nd floor railings:
One can't really make it out, but I glued on a strip of my "good" corrugated Michael's paper, to be the base for the paneling. I was thinking about this last night instead of falling asleep, about how the cream would look with the cherry stain framing it, and I came up with some conclusion about this but I can't remember what it was...
I think it will turn out OK like this. There are quite a few more rooms to panel in other ways. I have this great idea about using an off-gold cloth for paneling, framing it with cherry-stained wood...
