blogentry-570-1193605172_thumb.jpgI polyurethaned the interior and exterior wood and wood floors. Looks great in person! I just need to do the roof and the house is complete!

hmmmm, i just realized i forgot to take a picuture of the front of the house! it actually does look different cuz adding the polyurethane darkened the trimwork like i had hoped! when i get the roof on, i'll take more exterior shots!

What can I say!?! The floors are stunning. I'm off to check back on your blog entries to see what you used.

You've done an exceptional job with this house. ;)

OK, I checked back & you don't say what wood you used for the floors.

Looks like craft sticks, but there's no warping.

What glue did you use?

What clothes were you wearing?

Was the moon in the first quarter?

Were the planets aligned?

;)

lol on all the questions :p I used craft sticks, cut off the rounded ends and individually stained the craft sticks. Kind of tedious/kind of relaxing to do it this way...plus the stain smells so lovely so i enjoy sitting over an open can... ;) ;) I used a type of glue called "quick grip" i don't know what it is made of specifically but it comes in a tube, is clear, runny and can be very messy. It sets up a bond pretty quickly and you can reposition things for a couple of minutes before the glue bond really takes. I don't know what you would have that is equivalent...i'll look on the tube and let you know what it is made of. It causes absolutely no warping in my opinion and aside from being messy, i love using it. It doesn't smell unpleasant either...there was another similar adhesive that i used and it smelled so icky it made me nauseated. I threw that stuff away!
