A bit more design work

I've had a  about my Grosvenor Hall - I've decided not to put the front opening doors on it; I'm going to make Perspex/Plexiglass doors instead.

A bold move for me, but it gives me spare windows which I think look good as part of the house. The empty box look of the house was putting me off carrying on with this build - it seemed to lack life.

It means a lot of cutting out (shame I didn't think of this before I assembled it!) but I think it'll be worth it.

Here are some pics of the windows just mini-waxed onto the walls.

Wow!!!!!!!!! Jackie it's coming along beautifully!!!!!!!!!! I love the columns, they turned out excellant!

I love your idea to leave the front open! It will be so open and light!

I will also be putting other windows in, but they will be false windows, more of an illusion really, but i think it will be better than dark boxey rooms, it will look more realistic. I don't want to bother cutting holes tho, so that was where i came up with the idea of false windows.

I can't wait to see more!

Mmm, you've got me thinking, now, Marg. I'm going to play with the false windows idea, as i was going to put pictures behind them anyway. Then I'd only have to cut out the one on the side, which would show from the outside.

Like you, I'm using this house for my Bespaq & other special bits & so i thought it would be nice to have it on show all the time. I'm really getting into this no opening doors idea :)

Glad to see you've started your Foxhall - it'll be great to watch your progress with that beauty.
