stained the wood flooring

sunday april 15. Yesterday i cut the ends off of the craft sticks for the wood flooring for the chantilly, i also sanded all of the trim pieces. Today i only had time to stain the trim pieces and the individual wood flooring pieces. On tuesday i'll probably get the wood flooring installed, i do need to apply polyurethane on the trim pieces and the staircase, i'll try to get that done as well. after the floor is installed and the glue is dry, i'll throw a couple of coats of poly on the flooring as well. I still need to dry brush a little bit of color on the walls and ceilings as well.

Today i organized the family room and stacked the grosvenor on top of its basement section. my gosh it's so huge. I don't feel that the doors are stable now, so this week i'll have to apply the hinges and get those doors attatched. I need to keep the cats out and i'm afraid they will be interested in exploring and knock th edoors down. the doors are heavy, however a persistent furry beast has been known to nose her way behind the doors and take a nap in one of the rooms. I'd be bummed if the doors fell and get dinged up. anyway, when the chantilly is next to the grosvenor, i'm amazed at the size difference. i'll include some pictures, but the pictures don't really give you the feeling of the size difference. I just couldn't get a better camera angle. I'm also including a shot of the Pierce foundation. I didnt' get anything done on that house today due to all of the stuff i had to get done, I moved alot of stuff down into the basement. The family room feels less crazy now.

I see one of the cats got in straightaway!

It's great to see the progress on the Chantilly & then to see your GH, too :)

There's a huge difference between the two, as you said, but there would have been in real life - it's just that you wouldn't have seen them side by side. You'll have to build 2 or 3 more GHs & build one of those exclusive London squares with the private garden in the middle (as in '4 weddings & a funeral') :)

Great work, Marg!
