I didn't realize that I had been neglecting this house so badly until I looked and saw that I started this blog in July and here it is October. The house should have been through long ago. But with real life getting in the way and my natural (or unnatural) lazy streak--it has sat for weeks with very little done.

Since I last posted, I've finished the porch railings, put on both the porch and top roofs, made an chrysbon ice box, and worked and reworked and reworked on my stone chimney.

The chimney is made by spreading joint compound and adding river rock (which most were bought for $1 at the $ store). I learned several things in trying this--stir the compound really really well--it needs to be spread on thick enough to "seat" the stones--and it works better if the stones are placed one at a time. It took me 3 tries to learn this. (This is assuming that once it dries the stones will stay)

I have bought tin roofing material to put on the roof and the build will be over. Then the fun of decorating can begin.
