This house was a challenge to put together. the first floor sheet was the problem. i should have taken it apart and made the slots wider but i didn't. i had to use the hammer to coax certain parts to go together and the first floor to lay somewhat flat. it's not perfect but it's about as good as it will get. ah well that is what flooring and trim are for right? cover up the imperfections. Despite the naughtiness of the kit resisting my attempts, i did get it put together and I think i will really like this house! i did bash it a little...i left the staircase and the bathroom walls out. i am seriously considering either moving the bathroom to the 3rd floor and making the 3rd floor into a master suite. or just leaving the bath out altogether. it will depend on a couple of things. first, after i start sanding the staircase pieces, if they delaminate and fall apart as part of the wood has been doing, i'll have to put the bathroom in so i can hide that. ...and if there is no trim to put around that wonderful round top window on the second floor. if i put the bathroom in that room, it hides that window. i think it's a neat feature. anyway, i know that it will be near impossible to install the staircase now that the house is built without further modifying the staircase. it is connected to the bathroom wall, so i'd have to do a little surgery and separate the two of them as well as remove tabs. that's the fun of bashing, lots of modifications...but i get on a tear and have to build, i don't want to have to stop and decorate a hidden room before moving on to the next phase of building. it all works out in the end ;)

i LOVE the columns on this house. they were a real treasure with this kit.
