It's still my turn to play. Once the outside wall--where the fireplace and chimney are--the interior walls where the stairwell is will not be accessible, so I have to go ahead and wallpaper it and "brick" the inside of the chimney. Here's the beginning of the wallpapering.blog-241-1120787359_thumb.jpgblog-241-1120787371_thumb.jpgI decided that I wanted the interior of the chimney "bricked", so I found some paper that I liked on-line and printed it and put it on the inside of the chimney. Since I don't plan to change this, I have used white elmer's glue to put the brick paper in.blog-241-1120787477_thumb.jpgThe opening in the walls were a little tricky, since I wanted to have it lay flat and there not be a gap when you looked at it from inside the house, so I cut tabs and folded them over. That's not a good explanation, drat it, so, here are pictures of what I mean.
