MicroJivvy
I was away visiting family and discovered two budding miniaturists among my nieces. I'm looking at age-appropriate Christmas presents that will encourage this interest... because there are no dollhouse shops in my area, I'll be purchasing online. One item I'm considering is the Buttercup, but I haven't been able to determine if the buttercup comes with shingles or if they need to be purchased separately. Anyone know? Thanks! Minis On The Edge
It does not come with shingles but shingles are not too expensive.
MicroJivvy
Thanks, Tracy -- just want to make sure that I get everything they will need in one stop.
havanaholly
Claire, I have shingled the Buttercup with sandpaper strips cut into shingles a few times, I have also made it a tin roof with corrugated cardboard.
nuttiwebgal
althouh the Buttercup is cute and easy to do perhaps for 2 young girls you should think Arthur...4 rooms and shingles. the young girls like bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and livingroom. just a suggestion. and that house is sooo sweet. nutti
MicroJivvy
Thanks, Nutti... I didn't give enough background. They have a dollhouse that was given to them already... So the Buttercup is an addition... it's going to be a "shop" and I'm going to provide supplies for items THEY can create to put in their shop. nuttiwebgal
well than how about painting the roof with textured paint I have done that with great results. and you can make it yourself with fine sand mixed into your paint. nutti
MicroJivvy
I really like shingles... though I hate shingling even at 1:144. I have also made it a tin roof with corrugated cardboard. Ooh, I like that idea -- I LOVE tin roofs.
