Okaaaaayyyyyy...

1. Finish lamps and vases for the social lion's three-room black-and-white condo.

2. The Orchid. Next step is to mask off large parts of it, as I've totally changed concepts and decided to give it a stone-textured "stucco" exterior in spray paint (thank you, American Traditions!) and a copper roof (thank you, Rustoleum!). Then there's trim to paint.

3. Feeling cranky, I impulsively bought a marked-down one-room cottage at Auntie Em's. It's going to be a Chinese takeaway restaurant. I need to paint under its eaves before I can spray paint it in the same color scheme as the Orchid (because I'm lazy).

4. The Batrie cottage still has no interior trim or living room floor.

That's not counting the unfinished house just sitting in the guest room. That doesn't count because I don't think I've started it yet. Nor does it count the houses I just need to dust and rearrange. Nor does it count houses safely in boxes in the closet or houses I've forgotten I unwrapped, like the 1:48 farmhouse from Earth & Tree.

Did I mention that my New Year's resolution was to finish houses before starting new ones? That'd be New Year's 2006. We see how far that got me.

Every now and again, I eye this house-shaped CD case at Michael's that'd be a great two-story something in half-scale -- maybe the investment fund where Nigel and the Social Lion work.

welllll, "all of them" seems about right.

there are two arbor kits calling to me - i got two b/c i figured i'd mess up the first try, and haven't tried b/c i'm stumped abt what to do. but i'm getting there. along with that, the work in progress is

1. renovating and rehabbing the Pierce (for my wee friend and her mommy)

2. R & R the Tiffani (for dgd), and finding the right house for dgs

3. R & R the Buttercup (for a friend who is six years old)

4. ditto the Big Brown Mystery House

5. ditto the Victoria's Cottage

6. sometime this millenium, figure out who the Newburg will be; she's beginning to waken.

7. the Lily and the ER have yet to arrive, and will await.

8. try to think of something to swap in a swap.

9. win that lottery.

all in all, that should keep me off the streets for a week or so, unless the kids come and haul me off for storage. :groucho:

Hey, Beachpeach, I forgot to talk with you about Savannah...we lived there, some years ago, for about 8 years...

anyway. Projects. Lady Garfield needs her flashing done;

different wallpaper in her third floor bedrom and workshop

ceiling trim over her sewing room

and curtaind installed. 6 pair done, countless more to make! :

Curtains, for Lady Garfield

Brimble needs his back deck and steps, and new furniture (just bought) put in place

Greenhouse needs to be stocked (I have lots of stuff for it, but need more flowers)

make dirt, stones, gravel

finish flowers, in various stages of "undone"

Arbor has to be decorated -- I FINALLY settled on a theme

Then Ms. Washington is waiting in the wings. And I just picked up The Country House and The Emerson Row. And on the way home from the Shows Ralph is talking about the dollhouse he intends to make *from scratch*, using the Brimble as a model (at least for size), but it'll be "historically correct" -- the 1790's Fur Trade era.... THAT should be interesting! :groucho:

If you are talking about projects that I have begun but have not finished, perhaps a dozen. If you are talking about every kit I have purchased or supplies that will be projects one day but currently languish in my stash, then I'm not sure I can count that high!

Right now the only miniature project on my work table is the White Orchid.

I'd planned to work on it over the past few days, but my parents have needed me. Today is the only day that Ray and I have off together until next weekend. I so wish one of my other 2 brothers or sister would come into town for a weekend to look after mum and dad. I love them, but my one brother and I don't really get any days off. With taking my parents to doctors, appointments, specialists, library, shopping, and walks it pretty well takes up his and my days off. My sister is coming into town next weekend with her husband and 2 daughters (18 and 20), but they don't arrive until 10 P.M. Friday night. Then they'll "meet" my brother, parents and I at the horse races and head out of town immediately after. While I love to see them all, my brother and I are still needed to drive mum and dad. I've talked to my sister before, but her excuse is "it's a long drive". She only lives 2 1/2 hours away. She can't seem to get that Nick and I never get a day off.

Please don't think that Nick and I don't love mum and dad. We both really do, and that's why we're committed to ensuring that they both live the best life possible. But dad took a bad knock on the head last summer when he fell and suffered a head injury. They're both 80 years of age and can stay in their own home ... but they need our help.

Anyway, sorry to use this as a venting thread.

I'd just like to be able to get at my White Orchid.

-Susanne

Wow, it seems all my houses are never quite done so I guess the easiest way to answer this is all of them. :D

Too many to count for sure and how can one say they have only one project to do of you're a serious mini-er.

If there is a person out there, they must be wearing a shiny halo.

I have a very one-track mind. So until my Beacon Hill is finished, that will be my only dollhouse project. It only makes sense to me.

I'm big on multitasking, but I seldom build more than one house at a time. I varied slightly from that recently to put the Willowcrest in progress to one side to work on the Magnolia. That was kind of fun.........one is Second Empire Victorian and the other is Ultra Modern so I had a time warp going on. Right now I'm building the Willowcrest, blogging the Magnolia and working on the April swap stuff. There's half a dozen little things in progress for the Willowcrest (like a spiral staircase) but I kinda lump those together as one project.

While I haven't actually started building yet, the BH is on the table and I got a duplex room box kit yesterday to bash with it, so that's a kinda-sorta started project. I've got a stack my art quilts that I dug out of the trunk the other day to finish up. They've all been waiting for me to finish the binding and backing, so I do that handwork when I'm sitting and relaxing.

I don't wanna talk about all the UFO's that have been set to one side to complete "some day".

Hey, this thread actually guilted me into sort-of-finishing a project!

The Social Lion's Urban Flat

Note that this was supposed to be a fast project because it didn't involve construction.

Oooooooooooooohh Wende, I LOVE it!! I'm crazy about the black and white contrasts and you've really done an outstanding job. Niiiiiiiiiiiiice!

Thinking about starting:

Pet-related room boxes. (My niece says her customers are all gaga over the pet shop/grooming parlor I made for her and want a mini with their own pet in it. Am thinking of a few prototypes to put together)
