LaurenW
In the real world, we prime the back of trim to prevent warping. Should I do that for dollhouse trim that is glued onto another surface? Does glue adhere well to primed wood?
fov
I learned the hard way to paint the back sides of big pieces like floors and walls after my Fairfield ceilings got very warped when I only painted the ceiling side, but I haven't had this problem with trim. Thinner trims do warp sometimes, but I think the trim that comes with a Greenleaf kit (especially a die-cut kit) will be okay if you only paint one side.
havanaholly
I don't paint/ prime surfaces I'm going to glue. I normally don't paint the underside of the base floor and I've not experienced any warping.
LaurenW
I’ll try not backpainting trim, but definitely painting both sides of large shell pieces. Thank you.
havanaholly
It's OK to wait until you have the shell together to prime/ paint.
LaurenW
yes, I’ve got the whole shell together. I’ve run the electric and I’m putting a thin coat of spackle on the interior walls to smooth out the grain. A bit more filling and sanding and I’ll be ready to prime.
