Bromleycraft products are reusable, with a spray adhesive.  The Majic Brik/ Stone stencils were paper and you had to time things so you could remove them before the moisture from the compound made them too soft, but after the compound had set up a bit.

I use spackle or joint compound and carve my "stones" into the damp material with a pointed toothpick:

A couple other brick ideas:

I printed and cut a stencil out for brickwork, then spray painted using textured spray paint for this house

The conservatory bricks were made with egg carton torn in to brick shapes.

Thanks but the only problem is not in the US

Bromley Craft is in the UK but they ship internationally. The Magic Ston Holly mentioned is available at various miniature shops and eBay (do a search for "Magic Ston" and don't let Google correct it to "stone" for you!) Here's one listing for it: https://www.justminiaturescale.com/Magic-Ston-4-Sq-Ft-White-P14977.aspx

This blog post shows my experience with Magic Slat (slate), which is the same concept: https://www.emilymorganti.com/blog/?p=12469

I often make stone out of egg cartons. I have several posts about it on my blog: https://www.emilymorganti.com/blog/?tag=egg-carton-stone

Hi Fred,

You can also use a stone template and drywall compound https://www.amazon.com/CrafTreat-Stone-Background-Stencil-x6/dp/B0756FPVCT

Also, Paperclay makes awesome stone and brick. https://livingtheminiaturelife.blogspot.com/2019/05/paper-clay-bricks-quick-and-easy.html

I am not sure what happened there, halway through typing I lost my page and I see the video shows not the link, anyway  to repeat, I bought 3 scales 1/12 1/24 1/48of stencils,and three types ,cobblestone, patio stone and bricks on Etsy from Mini Minutia , they came with a brochure shwoing how to use then and a you tube link. she suggests Bromley stuff but it is exoensive to ship so another suggestion is Sanded grout from the hardware store, it apparently comes in many colors..and also spackle is a sugestion, hope this is of some use to you..sorry for the mix up.

We had a discussion several years ago about stencils and Bromley, I believe someone wanted to use it for brickwork.  Anyway, one member made quite serviceable brick stencils from a middling large grid of plastic needlepoint scrim, cutting out alternate bars to get the brick gridI wonder if using something like the plastic mesh from a bag of fresh produce and a spray adhesive would work for your stencil; you can use spackle, joint compound or drywall "mud".

Bromley brick and stone stencils and powder are available in the US at “Dolls and Minis” in Ohio.  I recently placed a reorder.  The owner is fantastic to work with and ships quickly.
