The 1:12 scale Tennyson doll house

My first doll house was The Fairfield 1:24 scale dollhouse and I followed the building instructions, closely.  I didn’t like how the staircase turned out and didn’t like any of the furniture.  So, I searched until I found furniture to fit into the rooms.  I’m starting this Tennyson house and I want to change things - the staircase, the front doors and the interior door.  I bought manufactured doors and a staircase and they require larger holes than what the structure allows for.  About an inch wider hole for all three things.  Will doing something like that weaken the structure in the process?

I don't think widening the holes for the staircase or the doors will weaken the structure of the house.  I renovated my childhood Tennyson, and widened the door for the bedroom so I could actually fit a door in there (so narrow!), and replaced the front door and the door to the porch.  Good luck!

I have begun making new doors and windows to fit the houses I build, and I have a Tennyson in desperate need of rehab that I shall do the same with.

You're enlarging the holes to fill with larger components; how does that weaken the structure?

I merged your two threads about the Tennyson into one. Enlarging those holes shouldn't weaken the structure, a lot of people do that.
