Tinyroomartist
Hi! I am not building a dollhouse but rather tiny room boxes. It would be great to install a staircase in one of them but it is hard to find a staircase tiny enough. I'd like to design and build it myself. Does anyone know where I can find lumber and supplies for building interiors at 1:48 scale? I think that would work. My little rooms are inside boxes which are about 4" x 6" on the outside and about 3" deep. Any help would be much appreciated! I don't. need to work strictly to scale. I just want to be able to close the box if I can. Even that is not essential . . .
Mid-life madness
Northeastern scale lumber is a good starting place. Most model train store etc should also be a source for you. There are lots of 1/48 furniture kits available too. https://www.northeasternscalelumber.com/shop/ Edited December 18, 2020 by Mid-life madness
havanaholly
Many hobby shops carry basswood in 1/16" and 1/32" thicknesses, or you can use stiff card stock like posterboard to make your staircase. When I was a young girl I made doll rooms out of shoe boxes.
