Bgreen4163
Hi! My name is Brittney and I recently bought a completed dura-craft San Franciscan 550 from a local thrift store for $20! I just want to fix the structural issues and lay basic flooring/ wallpaper. There are ALOT of structural issues so I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed. This website seems so wonderful.... I’m hoping I’ll be able to find the answers I need!
havanaholly
Hi, Brittney. The Dura-Craft SF555 was the very first kit I ever built, and I made lots and lots of mistakes on it. I still make lots of mistakes on the kits I build, but I am better at turning them into "happy accidents". Ask away, and asking here: https://forum.greenleafdollhouses.com/forum/30-dura-craft-dollhouses/ is a good place to get your questions about your house answered. When you have made five posts you can start an album of your rehab in the Gallery.
LeeB
Welcome, Brittney! What a bargain you got! I'm sure you can turn it into a treasure. I have found the folks here to be a wealth of helpful information - and very friendly and willing to share. I hope you'll post photos so we can follow your progress. Mid-life madness
Welcome Brittney That is a classic house and is still very popular today. You should be able to find many pictures of it online. Just ask or include a picture if you have questions about structural issues. There is a person on eBay that sells old dura-craft instruction sheets if that might help?
