I have heard of them...and I finally decided to buy one. It arrive recently and looks fun.

I decided to start with this one - because I love 1:48:

I would love the Jane Austen one. These make great gifts for avid readers too.

Have you seen those storage boxes/book shaped boxes at Michael's?

I have been wanting to do some kind of Vignette with one.

There are also Book Rooms from Petworth minis which are little book (3-4 inches high) that have rooms in them. Those come with the furnishings.

The Book Nooks are 8 or 9 inches tall and roomier than the book rooms.

I did the Sherlock Book room from Petworth and loved it. It's 1:48, so it's tiny!!

I made a roombox out of a book box from Pier 1. It's nowhere near as cute as these book nooks though!

@fov I think you did an excellent job!

I think I will pick one up next time I am at Michael's. I have a friend who shares my love for Jane Austen and I think a porcelain doll in regency garb might be nice in a simple scene.

Something I don't like about those book boxes is that they're hard to display. If you turn it sideways to display with the cover open, so you can see the scene, it doesn't look like a book anymore, and if you display it on a shelf with other books then you can't easily open the cover to see inside.

The book nooks are cool since you view them through where the spine would be - I like how they can be on a bookcase like a regular book but give an illusion of depth.
