Silvergirlsails
I primed (with a first coat of paint) the underside of the Base of my Victoria's Farmhouse and mistakenly painted the whole thing, so I am now sanding the parts where I will need to glue it to the foundation. Do I need to sand and paint a second coat on even the areas (like the rest of the underside of the base layer and the inside of the foundation) that will not be visible? Medieval
I don't think so. With plywood houses (my only experience) I prime and sand a second coat before adding paint or wallpaper. It can't hurt to have underside primed, but it's best to glue raw wood to raw wood.
havanaholly
If you don't need to glue anything to it and no one is going to see it, why bother?
Silvergirlsails
Thank you both. Someone had mentioned all exposed surfaces of MDF should be painted, so just checking.
havanaholly
It's primed so it's sealed. I had not heard that; my one foray into MDF (which cured me!) was a room box for one of HBS' Creatin' Contests and I didn't seal or prime any of the bottom side.
