IndyCindy
I am giddy over the miniature iris I just finished making from a kit. (Now to make the other 5!) So fun and satisfying when something turns out better than you expect! I've said it before, and I'll say it again - miniatures = the best hobby!!!

Yes, they are made from paper. I found the kit on Etsy from Moonflower Miniatures. Much easier to assemble than I had anticipated.

IndyCindy
Here's all 6 made up, as well as a partially open one and extra bud stems for realism!
havanaholly
OK, I have to ask, because Nutti's glue irises don't have the ruffles on the petals; what kind of paper does the kit contain? That is so totally awesome! (Many years ago I used to grow irises).
blueirishmoon
Pretty! I'll have to remember the seller's name for the future.

That is so totally awesome! (Many years ago I used to grow irises). I think it’s some kind of crepe paper - very thin, but durable. Whatever it is, it cups like magic when you shape it with a ball stylus. Each bloom is constructed of nine petals total. All you need to complete the kit is tacky glue, a ball stylus and tweezers. I had a rather sentimental reason for wanting irises in the first place. They remind me of my grandpa, who grew a very impressive collection. I remember he even painted little markers for each one with its hybrid name.
havanaholly
My hubs had a second cousin in GA who did that with his day lilies. (I grew them, too, long ago).
My Miniature Madness
Might be silk or rice paper, Holly... Pierce Miniatures used to have it but there is nothing on their site now.

Tigpuppy
Thanks @KathieB! I don't know why it doesn't come up when I search using the Etsy search feature.

That's the seller. She ships quickly, but it did take a little over a month for my last order to reach the U.S. from Estonia.
