Medieval
Now that I have popsicle sticks cut, glued, and stain, what should I use to seal/protect floor? Polyurethane or modpodge?
havanaholly
How much foot traffic do you expect your floors to get? I burnish mine with a crumpled brown paper bag.
FurMama
Polyurethane turned my Pepperwood Farm floors orange. They were not stained though. It took awhile for them to get like that and it was also 15 or so years ago and there are newer versions that say slow to yellow now. If you're ok with having beetle spit on your floor then try shellac i think that it is not supposed to yellow but I don't like thinking about the bug juice part ha! I have only used modpodge on paper surfaces and have had it to remain somewhat sticky to the touch. I like Holly's suggestion best.
Medieval
Ok. I am going to sell my house and want it to stand up to kid use as much as possible. My goal is $5.00 raffle tickets. Max tickets sold is 100. There's some local festivals I can cart it to.
havanaholly
Polyurethane. I've seen lots of posts about Mod Podge remaining sticky.
FurMama
Yes for kid use definitely polyurethane!
CathyAllen
I agree, but put a some wax paper on after the floor dries and then a heavy book overnight.
Bluestocking
I've had good results with Ceramcoat gloss varnish on miniature furniture, so I suspect it would work equally well on floors. I got mine at Michael's. https://forum.greenleafdollhouses.com/gallery/image/137232-chippendale-desk/ Jeanne
