nolephan 47
Hi all, I'm sure this topic has been addressed before, but can't find it. I'm trying to hang family pictures in my orchid. How do you all hang them? I did hang a cuckoo clock on the wall; I cut a straight pin and used that as a "nail" but it was so fiddly and took forever to get it in the wall. Do you all just glue framed pictures straight on or use something else? Thanks! Laurie (Nolephan)
grazhina 851
I just glue mine on. Whenever I use something else that's "removable" sooner or later the darn stuff lets go and the picture falls down.
havanaholly 10,937
Until I'm sure where I want the picture (maybe once or twice) I use kneadable poster putty to hold it until I decide; then I glue that sucker into place.
IndyCindy 65
I guess I have a fear of commitment on this one, but I just use Mini-hold brand museum wax. If you use a big enough glob of it (in proportion to the weight of the item you wish to hang), it does a great job. You can easily move things around. I've even used it to secure things to the outside of my house. (garden hose holder, mailbox, etc.)
JSundbakken 41
I've heard of using magnets under the wallpaper and affixed to the picture you want to hang. But I use white poster tack.
nolephan 47
I had tried that dental wax for braces and they stayed on about 2 minutes. I really want to just glue them on; thanks for giving me the freedom to do so!
havanaholly 10,937
Two things to remember: it's YOUR dollhouse and no one has any business looking for wee nails & wires behind your pictures.
HollyhockCottage 16
I use tacky wax but I do have some pictures hanging by chain on a small pin because of the house era. I found if you drill a hole for the pin first using a pin drill (or small Archimedes drill) then just glue the trimmed pin into place, it’s much easier. havanaholly 10,937
Christine, I think I'd still reinforce that picture with a dot of glue or poster putty, especially if you have fur babies.
