Doll wigging....

So, I'm thinking about getting Fred from minidollkits to make Master Raymond my Apothecary.  Here is Fred and Raymond.....what do you think?

So, if I go this way I'll have to make his wig...UGH....not something I'm overly good at.  So I was talking to my daughter who put me on to this Youtuber and I've just watched this video.  I think it looks quite doable for the making of the hair - of course I'm still going to have to figure out how to style it - but what do you think?  I reckon this could be quite a good way of doing doll hair/wigs!

Fred?  Yup!  I've had a couple of dolls from Sherri before - love her dolls!

I think you would have better results using Viscose. I have some I could send you. You could also get the kit to send a specific color for Master Raymond

I just did a blog post about wigging.

When you get the doll just order the viscose from Sherri. The wig won’t be difficult, they look more complicated than they are, I think the secret is to not use too much hair, something I’m still working on. Roving can work but tends to get really fuzzy really quick.

For his style I would blend white and silver and do the basic wigging cross (Carrie had the video on her blog) then cut it short and add rolls on the sides as separate pieces, rolls made to width you want, on knitting needles or similar.  If worst comes to worst you can always pull it off and start over. Maybe buy extra hair if you think you might need a few practice runs.

I think that doll will be a good match for him!

Thanks all.  I bought wigging from Sherri when I bought Val and Norm as kits.  Their hair is okayish......but of course Master Raymond is all about the 'powdered wig'!  After having a look at Carrie's blog and the video I actually could enjoy the challenge....maybe.....

Thanks!  I think it'll work too!!  Certainly the closest I've seen at this point....
