Is that guy STILL trying to sell that house for $700?!? Seriously, what's with the Newberg, anyway. I saw another one the other day where someone wanted $400 for it. And it was just a put-together shell - nothing finished.

I just wonder what the logic was in the $700 price point. These folks don't get the miniature community. But then sometimes these same folks underprice marvelous stuff and I don't lament that...so maybe it all evens out. Good luck Steve!

This auction is funny: http://www.ebay.com/itm/LOT-OF-PIECES-AND-PARTS-FROM-THE-ARTHUR-DOLLHOUSE-KIT-8012-PLEASE-SEE-PHOTOS-/362021179386

I can't even guess what those curved plastic pieces are, they look like fake fingernails. But the funny part to me is "I don't know if the kit is complete." Even if you've never built a dollhouse before, how would you expect someone to build one out of those pieces?

What's with the weird shaped milled siding pieces?  No, I don't think it's anywhere near "complete"!

I think they're leftover scraps. This was someone's box of pieces after they finished the Arthur and never got around to throwing away the box. (I understand, sometimes I don't throw those away either! But I hope whoever goes through my stuff when I'm dead doesn't try to sell them...)

$15 for both dollhouses (I'd probably toss the plastic one in the trash on my way out...sorry to say):

And what is up with these tiny doors??!? The doors are lower than the windows!

And a $25 Alison:

I came very close to going and getting this $150 furnished Pierce with a nicely enhanced staircase (but I already have a perfectly done Pierce thanks to someone else's craigslist posting from a few years ago with electricity for $150) - but I really like this:

I like the wallpaper and everything. I'd only want the exterior trim changed a bit. It's a nice deal, imo.

I looked at the three wicker pieces in that house and it looks like some of the pieces I sold a while back. Too weird. Well, I guess if you've seen one wicker piece, you've seen them all. LOL

Here's an unusual little house in Colorado.

To be honest, this "Kaleidoscope House" is probably a little too interesting for me, but I'm sure someone will love it. *shrug*

I remember that house. The price is because they know what they have (but will they get that price? - probably not).

You know, I was thinking about taking two Brookwoods, turning them sideways and making them into a Colonial Saltbox house.

Oh I like that idea.

Because the Kaleidascope house reminded me of the "dollhouse as art" scene from early 2000s:

Here is the Yinka Shonibare dollhouse:

https://store.moma.org/museum/moma/ProductDisplay_Yinka-Shonibare:-Untitled-(Dollhouse)_10451_10001_62509_-1_26680_11595

https://akronartmuseum.org/collection/Obj4829?sid=1&x=1646486

I really like this idea, but the art scene always lacks the details I think a real miniaturist wants. I was sort of interested in a Shonibare dollhouse but the interior had no stairs, no window or floor trims...I just wanted so much more detail. I like the wallpapers and fabrics, though.

These houses are really neat. And the people who come with them are very diverse. I'm not too thrilled with furniture, but I like the whole concept.

I saw some at very deep discounts in early 2000s, but it just wasn't a compelling house. I'd probably have loved it. I like the Lundby stuff. I ended up getting a very cheap Brinca Dada house later on and am glad I did. Same modern vibe.

I always like looking at all of the stuff in the background of the photos. Looks like the Brookwood seller needs to free up some space!

Ha ha me too! My family thinks I'm a peeping Tom because I love it when people leave their blinds open at night. You can see EVERYTHING in the house, and how they decorated it. I don't want to see the inhabitants, just their stuff!  Probably why I like miniatures?
