Does anyone know more about these houses? I've never heard of the Afton Classics company. I'm curious to know what the floorplans look like on these or any other wisdom about the houses/company anyone wants to share.

FYI, if anyone else is thinking about bidding I bought a Hofco from this seller last spring and she was excellent. Very friendly and communicative and she didn't wait days and days to ship it (shipped it first thing the next morning IIRC).

I don't know much about the company, but Afton did make quite a few nice dollhouses. Their roofs (rooves?) seemed to be very steep and high - that's one way I ID them, Older catalogs still have pictures of Afton houses and I have one catalog from The Dollhouse Factory that listed their houses.

It's been relisted at a lower price of $15.00!  Shipping is only $55, so for $70 you will have a GREAT kit.  It is a bit heavy, so the shipping price is not out of line.  These are really nice kits.  Tab and Slot construction like GL, but are of 1/4" plywood.

I would buy it, but already have this one in my stash and definitely don't need another!  I am envisioning mine as a great Bate's house with an addition of a center tower.

This Joan Anglund dollhouse brings back some 1970s memories - if you don't recognize the name, you might recognize the artwork. I had no idea there was a dollhouse. It's cardboard so I was a little surprised shipping is $55, but I guess it is unwieldy/large.

I'd love to shrink it down to 1:48.

& I got outbid. Oh well; I am hoping SOMEONE will have a lovely holiday gift, then!

Obviously, whoever outbid me didn't bid enough, because the seller ended the listing early, for the reason of "The item is not available anymore". &, golly gee whiz, it just got relisted at a $400 "Buy it Now" auction. Uh-huh....

Yeah....what's up with that?? So they are looking for a bidding war?

That is bold pricing on a $40 Robotime kit. But I do grasp that it takes a long time to put the furniture together. The shell comes assembled and painted...the furniture parts are pre-painted. But there's a ton of cut out paper items.

I seem to remember that Orchid has been posted before, several years ago, because I remember the cannibalized doll parts.

Have any of you seen postings about a book named AN INTERIOR DESIGNER DESIGNS SIX DOLLHOUSES. You could buy her book, but there were never any previews of the pictures etc....I was always curious to see the houses.

Well, she is listing the houses for sale on eBay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/FRIDA-KAHLO-HOUSE-1930-I-CAN-SHIP-IT-REDUCED-TO-NEVER-AGAIN-PRICE-3500/113934148855?hash=item1a870124f7:g:tbAAAOSwJItcbxT9

I'm glad i didn't buy the book.

I was curious about the fact that Frida was her client in 1930. Wouldn't that make her at least 110 years old?

She says that as part of the backstory --- I think she meant that the house was decorated as if she were the decorator in the 1930s, not that the decorating took place in the 1930s.

that's how I interpreted it too....she does think quite highly of her work.  Good for her.
