Spring Cleaning time!!   I fell behind in deleting the old posts in the old topic. After deleting 10 pages (one post click at a time) I decided

Here she is - the new $60 baby: I haven't been working in 1:12 in a long time, but this will be fun break in between 1:48 projects. It seems so HUGE

So I have to update you all on the latest.  Last night we were putting the Christmas decoration boxes back into the attic.  We started cleaning out some items to donate and trash un

And I have more! These are just some odd things I found that someone might actually want:

Duracraft partially built Alexandra in Georgia for only $50

I wouldn't spend $100 on this, but it's modeled after the SW Crafts kit which itself is modeled after a real house (I think)

A Granville....

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Artply-Granville-Doll-House-Kit-New-in-Box-9-Room-Victorian-439/273615431367?epid=17012490646&hash=item3fb4c026c7:g:ekEAAOSwx9lcGCU2:rk:4:pf:1&frcectupt=true

A Boston (not a Bostonian)

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Wood-Doll-House-Kit-Boston-House-1-12-Scale/273593375608?hash=item3fb36f9b78:g:cOMAAOSwhY9cBdb5:rk:40:pf:0

An Arrow...um, Cape Cod? Personally, I was thinking a witch's house or a crooked cottage

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Arrow-Cape-Cod-5-room-3-story-Wood-Dream-Doll-House-Kit-695-unopened/273593357615?hash=item3fb36f552f:g:IXIAAOSw0rdcBeEO:rk:41:pf:0

A Storybook Cottage from whom I have no idea, but it's kinda cute

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Doll-House-Kit-Story-Book-Cottage-49-14142-New-In-Box-Vintage-Retro-Rare/302779729539?hash=item467f140683:g:aZ4AAOSwbrJbLCZR

A modern stove that could be repainted to look pretty nice. I like the interior - you could put real metal racks in there

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Dollhouse-Miniatures-Stove-1-12-Scale-Opening-Front-and-Sliding-Rack/263848568558?hash=item3d6e99a6ee:g:iwMAAOSwUv5bU2K6:rk:45:pf:0

OK, the stove is pretty common, but I like the stove hood and you can't beat this price

I keep seeing this Batrie Cape Cod.  There are two listed and this one just dropped the price and is taking offers.  The other one is still listed at $100 and has 19 watchers.  Not sure why this one has not been snatched up.  I have one Batrie cottage in my stash and don't need another.

I keep looking at this Dura-Craft Victorian and finally decided to leave it alone.  Although I know I will keep looking at it.  But I do not need another kit! :noway:

I have this kit and am dying to start it. :)

Also, I saw this Skillcraft Federal and I know you like the skill craft houses so another one to ponder :cheezy:

You didn’t think you’d come here and we’d talk you out of buying kits did you?

Oh yikes, I just clicked the link I posted last week to see if it was still up, and they're now asking $2500 for this house! I swear it was $1500 when I first saw it. https://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/tag/d/one-of-kind-dollhouse/6772308909.html

(And they're still saying it would be great for a kid's Christmas present!)

it was definitely $1500 when you originally posted...they may be using tide pods as holiday entertainment because there is no justification for the price increase IMHO.

Agreed, I remember seeing it at $1500. And “tide pods” made me snort/laugh.

I knew there would be a few members out there to push me towards buying the kit.

But now you are just being mean by posting the other kits!

I am actually good on my kit stash, but would love to add the Victorian to it.  But I think someone in my household would not be happy to see the box show up! :headhurts:

I need to get busy on the Cape May and the Vineyard Cottage projects.  Both are at different stages, but with the holidays and such they have been on hold.

And somebody posted this farmhouse at $75, now only $10!! https://chicago.craigslist.org/wcl/bab/d/doll-house/6774486799.html

And that's the Lawbre Farmhouse! I love that house!

Edited to add: I just called the owner and the house was sold to a charity that rehabs dollhouses. I hope they appreciate what they have! I called mainly because I thought the owner could advertise it as a Lawbre and get more attention that way. If it hadn't been sold, I would have asked if he would knock it down and ship it flat. Ah, well.

Maybe you could arrange to have it shipped to a friend's house and then pick it up and take it in and add it to the stash while the other someone is elsewhere?  I'm just trying to be helpful, Matt!

Sometimes I wonder if this people don't have a clue of what they are selling or if they are just plain scammers...https://www.ebay.com/itm/Mirror-Frame-Doll-house-Furniture-Miniature-Dollhouse-Antique-Vintage-model-old/132887744318?hash=item1ef0ba0f3e:g:BSEAAOSwf1xcEx~5:rk:92:pf:0

Made in Taiwan!

Maybe they meant to list it for $0.99 and made a mistake?

I just went through all her other items. I don't think she made a mistake. All her miniatures are $99 and up. Most of them are junk. Some are broken or missing parts. I hope she didn't pay someone to get an appraisal.

Why not buy a kit, wrap it up, and then bring it home and say something like, "Look what someone at the office just gave me for a gift!"

Might work.

Or better yet, buy the kit and give it as a gift to that someone in your household. If you don't get clobbered with it, now you have another kit to work on.

Yeah, that's me, always thinking of new ways to get people to buy kits.
