Also, I can't stop noticing the resemblance with the Noel and Pat Thomas dollhouses, so original, original I don't think it is...

I thought this too.. Looks like a bash... and not a great one IMO.

I saw this today while browsing, here  I guess it is worth more then my house, barn, and 70 acres!

Well if it were furnished with Ferd Sobol pieces (and maybe some of our own Mike's) and artisan dolls...  but then Jeremy's houses ought to go as is for that.

I saw this house in person. It is filled with so many details as to cause sensory overload. The description with it doesn't begin to inventory the contents. It is a mix of exquisite, expensive and ordinary, inexpensive items, which gives it a strange vibe, sort of like having an aluminum lawn chair beside a William Morris sofa in real life. I can't think who a potential buyer might be, nor why he or she might want to own it.

As I said, if I had that kind of money I'd want Jeremy's Tudor:  http://www.greenleafdollhouses.com/forum/?app=gallery&module=gallery&controller=browse&album=2436  and furnish it in Ferd Sobol's furniture:  http://www.artisticvision.com/soboleditions/  and let some of Jo's little people live in it:  https://www.bing.com/images/search?q=jo+medvenics&qpvt=jo+medvenics&FORM=IGRE

I agree with you too. I'd never seen Fred Sobol's work so stunning. I see something new all the time reading this forum.

I would think if one were selling a house of this magnitude that they would want better photos of it. I’ve seen better photographs from our members.

Could't agree more the new phones take great pictures . They might wan't to restage it like when your selling you're own home.

I wish I were more clued in to what miniature things cost. I'd like to go through the Bonnie Broel house and add up what's in it. I think for the dolls, we might be able to say maybe $200 a doll, for example. I counted 9 "people" dolls and about 6 or so doll dolls. And I may be off by a few.

It's really not the furniture that's so pricey in that house. It's all the little stuff - the food, the toys, the stuff on the shelves, the hats, clothes - like Kathie said, it's all the details that give you sensory overload. I think if you counted them and then maybe gave a median price for them, like say, $10 each, I'm wondering what that would come up to.

Edited to add: Maybe I don't want to know after all. Because if I wanted my own dollhouse to look close to that, I'd know how much I'd be spending and I think I'm happier off not knowing that. It's a scary thought, thinking that I could have bought a new house, furnished, for what I've spent on miniatures. LOL

Well, I think Bonnie Broel prices the houses at what they are worth to her. And I get that - I have several houses I simply will never part with unless someone offered me a million dollars for each one. Note: No one ever will because it is only worth that to me. When I am gone, the houses will probably appear at the local Good Will for $50 at best. Or on the side of the road. I hope not, but the market in Oregon for dollhouses is just not good. And old school miniaturists are getting more rare by the minute.

But I looooooove those houses. No price can be attached to the joy they have given me. Plus, I'll bet it the money was better spent on the miniatures than a therapist if I hadn't let myself have a hobby! lol

You made my day, I could have only buy an used car with the money I have spent so far, and I have been feeling so guilty! lol

Do yo think this is actually a house a 5 year old could use if it's kept simple and has furniture for a child to use ?

Totally! I built one for my friend's granddaughter and filled it with Ryan's Room furniture, and she loved it! didn't stop playing almost all day long. It is strong, and easy and fast to finish. Highly recommended, and at this price is a bargain.
