vbharrington
I envy those who find awesome minis in thrift stores, but I'm never that lucky - however, I ran into Goodwill yesterday and came across two boxes of poker chips for .50. Has anyone made any minis using poker chips? I'd love some ideas.
MamaD
I saw one used to make a small table for a game room once in a B&B-styled dollhouse. Turned out very cute. If I remember right they made a base (wish I could remember with what material), and the name of the B&B was hand painted into the center of the table. It was a cute detail.
havanaholly
Bistro table tops come first to mind. Chair seats/ stools, as well.
Elsbeth
Here's what I'd do: Top of a small end table, framed mirror (put the mirror paper/craft stuff in center), wall hanging decorated plate, platter with tea set on it or a turkey on it, cut in half and it could be the back of a table or head board of baby bed (depending on scale), base of a floor lamp. Cut in half for a small demilune table or even cabinet if you use both halves on top and bottom with cardstock for front, beads for feet. I'd consider combining a chess piece (available at goodwill usually - so you don't have to ruin your own set) as the base and putting the poker chip atop that...then painting it. I'd probably go for a wood effect.
Elsbeth
Also, if you cut in half - maybe a small shelf-table: Maybe something like this if you use a chess piece: Modern chair: Use the pieces for a dressing table chair/ottoman: Mod table: Maybe turn it into a table mirror via craft mirror paper: Or add to existing dressing table as mirror:
vbharrington
Thanks everyone! I can't wait for school to be out next week so that I can have time to work on some of these ideas and others.
