Geemom
The glue has dried on the foundation and there are a few corners that did not seat perfectly. My floor was warped to begin with, so I did have to weigh it down to assemble and was unable to check the fit completely before gluing. Before trying to loosen glue and correct the corners, I measured around the foundation to see exactly what was off and what was just due to part variance. It measures mostly at 2 inches, with a few areas smaller by 1/16 to 1/32 of an inch. Does that make sense? I know it doesn't seem like much, but I know by the time I build three stories the difference is going to have a larger impact. My question is, how close does the foundation have to be before it totally throws the rest of the house off? I have built things before, but this is my first dollhouse kit. havanaholly
When you did your dry fit, did you shave or sand all the tabs & slots to get a more precise fit?
Geemom
Yes I did. They all fit together individually, as a whole there was an issue because one of the floor pieces had a slight warp. With tape and some heavy books, it would fit.
havanaholly
If it's off a whole lot more than can be fixed with a bit of spackle I'd probably take it apart and reglue it so it all fits (I have done this...)
Geemom
Thanks. It can definitely be fixed with spackle.
Sapphire-Star
My floor was warped and I had to pile books on top. Hope everything works out with the Spackle.
