A "oops" with an awesome ending

I picked up some mini picture frames at Hobby Lobby, when I got them home and opened they were NOT what I expected. I asked my granddaughter (the one that just got her house) if she could paint on such a tiny canvas. She said she liked a challenge.............................

I know I am her grandma, but she is AWESOME there are her paintings all over my son's house. Truly a blessed girl.

Question???? Would any of this community BUY a painting IF they were available? (ps she is a high school student and works, art is her passion, not income, I am just curious)

Yes most likely. There are a lot of artists that sell their painting on eBay and Etsy. You might want to do a little research to see what those people are doing. Some of them make a few bucks per painting, but some make quite a lot. She should go for it! :)

One of DH's & my guilty pleasures is going to art shows featuring the work of highschool students and younger; there is SO much talent budding out there that the cutting of funding for art programs in the public schools is stomping on! Your granddaughter has some serious talent!

Your granddaughter wasn't kidding when she said she liked a challenge, and you weren't kidding when you said this oops had an awesome ending!

To answer your question, yes, I would definitely buy one of her paintings, provided they are in my budget. I imagine she could get a lot for these.

These are awesome. How much is she selling them for? I would have to know how much they'd go for to know if I'd be able to get one. Money's notan issue. LOL. ;)

Your granddaughter met her challenge and then some! I did a quick search on Etsy for miniature painting and found a number of artists offering work of varying accomplishment. Check out the link to get an idea of the marketplace and pricing. Your granddaughter's work measures up to the best of them. :thumb:

Lawanda, if she wants to sell, you might post in the Community Trading Post link to let us know. Some folks who may want to own one of her pictures may not have read this thread. Although you can't post prices in this forum, you may want to include a link to a website where the paintings can be seen and ordered. Look into an Etsy site. It's not very complicated to set up and the fees are minimal.

Thanks. She has to get out of school for the year firs. SNOW days, delayed their summer. I went to the new HL last night (so sad HAHA) and they didn't have the little canvases. The guy in that department said they were on order. If she is really interested in the idea Grandma will buy her canvases. Just because that's what I do. No personal gain here. I have one of her real life size paintings and it makes me very happy. IF she does decide, I will put up something in the trading section.
