mesp2k
I thought this idea, from Houzz, could work for a miniature staircase, click but instead of paint use colored tape?

havanaholly
What a cool idea, taking the idea of a painted floor rug to the stairs (one of my good friends bought an older house that had a rug painted onto her parlor's floor).
otterine
Awesome. I'm thinking leopard print duct tape!
Roxxie2
That's a great idea! I used ribbon for a stair runner in two houses. I lived in a house that the floor in the dining room was stenciled to look like a carpet. It was a very old house built in 1831 I don't think they even had carpeting then. I thought it would be cool to stencil the stairs like a runner.
Dalesq
Washu tape might be a good alternative to duct tape and it comes in all kinds of colors and patterns.
jbnmini
What a great idea! I was just thinking last evening about how I wanted to finish the stairs for my Franklin Cape House. I didn't think the traditional stain & paint would necessarily work for this house....now I've got another whole thought wave goin'!

More Minis Dollhouses
Wow, this would actually look awesome on miniature staircases! Applying it to tape would be easy and fun. Thanks for the link.
