asherah
For example the alison jr. I don't get how the addition adds on when there is no door or anything on the sides ? Just pretend ? Just curious what everyone else does.
havanaholly
If I'm adding on I'd cut doorways and trim rooflines.
DocGreen
Also, you could put on a fake door.
Selkie
I cut doorways and installed a Houseworks door and casings between my Orchid and my Primrose in my Garfield Bash . There will eventually be the same between the Orchid and the main Garfield house section in the living room area and another between the Garfield kitchen and the Artist studio building. I trimmed the roof even where it would meet the next section. I haven't finished those yet but will be putting some fake flashing in before I shingle. jdodyd
When I built the addition to my dollhouse (RTG Simplicity) I knew that if I attached the addition permanently, I would never get it through the doorway of my craft room, so I just butted the addition up to the house and used trim to cover where the addition meets the house. I used false doors on both sides of the main house wall so it looks like a regular door. Maybe not the most elegant solution, but it works for me.
chapchap73
I used the addition on my Vermont Jr. I cut doorways for access, two are open and the other has a Houseworks door in it. I used wide trim to cover the edges.
kat57
Joy,I loooove your house! It is furnished and decorated so beautifully!! The addition looks like it is permanent and part of the original plan-masterful job, inmyopinion!
More Minis Dollhouses
I used an addition once for an RGT dollhouse but it did have a door already cut into it. The opening fit right over the opening on the side of the dollhouse I wanted it in. Installing the door was difficult though because of the extra thickness of the two laminated walls. I suppose that if it wouldn't have had an opening, it would have had to be left for pretending...lol considering how thick the wall are for cutting.
