I posted this in the Front Office section. I am concerned . There is a whole list under Recent Topics of someone posting over and over selling Cipro overseas. I think that its SPAM and may contain something harmful . Does anyone else see that?
There is a ton of it listed all on the right upper side of the page the same thing over and over throughout the forum.

I hope one of the Moderators checks into this! I was afraid to log in!

Roxy, I happened to be signed in and browsing when all that trash started to show up - that person posted that meds/supplements for sale list in practically every topic on here. I reported several of them to the moderators, and gave up trying to report ALL of them - I'm sure several of us were reporting this invasion!

I merged the three threads on this topic. I know you were worried, but posting duplicate threads about spam is sort of ironic.

When reports are made, Tracy and I get emailed about it (and maybe Dean and others, I'm not sure). So we might not see the reports immediately depending on what time of day it is, etc.

It's not actually necessary to report every piece of spam if the user who posted it is the same, because once we deal with them once the rest of their posts disappear. So that's just something to keep in mind for future reference... if we get a ton of reports of spam from the same user it's actually more work to make sure the report has been addressed because we have to click on every one of the links, even though each of those posts might have been dealt with automatically already.

That's not to say people shouldn't report spam, because you should! It's very helpful. But don't feel like you have to go around the forum to find them all, if it's the same person posting in a lot of different places.

Anyway, thanks to everyone who reported the spam! And thanks to Tracy or whoever it was who nuked with it! By the time I saw the reports it had already been taken care of.

Emily! Sorry about the double post I made! Thanks for explaining about who sees it and how it gets removed. I was worried it might contain something harmful to the site and the members....I panicked!!! Have a nice weekend!

Just never click any links in a post like that. The posts themselves can't hurt your computer. :)

I had my computer compromised ( hacked into) twice and it was not a good experience. I never click on anything unless I am absolutely certain who its from and what it is. Thanks! We all want to feel safe and enjoy our hobby its too bad there are people out there with nothing more constructive to do than that!

Sorry about all of that! I was at the doctors office and had looked in on my iPad. When i saw the reports. I couldn't reply to you guys at that time but I took care of him soon as I saw it. Thank you all for reporting it! It helps keep our forum clean. One of the best ways to report the spam is to report the user from their profile. Usually, Emily (Fov) or I see the reports and take care of them. We truly appreciate you all being the eyes and ears when we are not around (there has been times I was on the forum in the galleries and missed the spam).

Roxy, as soon as I see it I go to their profile page and report them, as our admin has requested. There are a growing number of us who do this. Since the spammers don't seem to give a tinker's dam (or any other kind) that they're unwewelcome, the alternative is to erase their presence from the forum. I suspect it's the same one constantly rejoining under different aliases to post their spam links. Just ignore them, they'll be made to go away.

I don't even like to go to their profile page ( The Spammer) because I am afraid there might be a link to a virus or something there.

Roxy, just don't click on any links the spammer posts. When you click on their icon (like mine next to this post, or the placeholder icon new members get) to get to their profile, that's Greenleaf's link. Then when you get to their profile, the "report this member" is another Greenleaf link. :)
