Daun
Hi. I am new to this web site and was given a great review from others. So far it is great. I am new to the Dollhouse world. Since I will never get my dream house this is the way to go. I got the Beacon Hill house oh??? 2007ish. I love the style. Very few people seem to feel the same. They all say the Munster's live in it. I disagree. Every house now in Nevada all look alike. I so far have most of the outside done. I put on stone on the Tower part. Did not like the look so I took a hammer too it and removed it. What a mess. Use a drop cloth next time. I got tired and started working on the inside. I sealed all the walls and stained the floors Red Oak. I have to say some parts of building were not fun. I wish I understood how it went together I would have wallpapered as I built it. Well, next time I will know. Right now the house is Dark green with light taupe trim with burnt orange accents. I will change the green so it is not as dark. Love the orange and will keep it. I decided to not wallpaper the wall directly. I used poster board and made templates of the walls and will wallpaper them as I am not able to commit to anything right now. I do know the Parlor is dark red with gold (Lower right room). I will put up photos when it arrives. Middle right room will be the Master Bedroom. Right now it is light blue. I am not a big fan of the color so this will most likely change. I am trying to make it historically correct but due to lack of resources I am just going with what I like. Mostly Late Victorian. I try to make everything drapes, bedding myself but have to buy everything else. Well this is me for now. Feel free to write. I will help with ideas as I can. I will update with photos as I take them. Thanks Daun

morgansmith
Daun, Welcome to the forum. It is a wonderful place. If you can't find what you need, ask. Someone knows Since you will never have your dream house: many of us have had or still have dream houses. They are alot of money, alot more work and they control your life. It is waaaaaaaaay more fun to have your life controlled by miniatures. Enjoy Morgan
havanaholly
Welcome to the little family, Daun. A terrific source for Victorian interiors is our Grazhina's blog. There is also a book, Victorian Interlude, that had period photographs.

I love it, but could have used "Then I managed to lose some of the parts to the tower. I just made one to fit. so far it is looking ok. I am not the best at building dollhouses, but find that it is good therapy.
