Minsanity
Thank you!!! Yes, I love my machine and recently learned to care for it mechanically all by myself. Really? Where did you learn and what machine do you have - mine is this one http://www.etsy.com/blog/en/2012/singer-featherweights-still-stitching-after-all-these-years/
otterine
Thank you! I have a Singer 401a. I found the manual online, and there are a lot of youtube videos on various machines for maintenance. Mine really just needed oil and lubricant. You can see the machine here at the end of the post: http://www.otterine.com/blog/blog3.php/serendipity-dress-2012 And, my post on doing the maintenance: http://www.otterine.com/blog/blog3.php/a-sense-of-accomplishment
kat57
Brae,I love last year's dress-dupioni is one of my dream fabrics! (I don't sew,but I mean I love it!)This year's outfit is so cool, and your long hair is gorgeous! Well,I need better glasses-that isn't dupioni,is it-the green fabric for The Serendipity Dress? Well, either way,you are so,so talented, lady!! Edited December 8, 2013 by kat57
otterine
Thanks, Kat! Last year's green was satin with a dupioni texture. It was fluid like satin, though. Since it was sent to me in error, I'm not sure what it was.
Minsanity
Thank you! The sales person told us that the older models are definitely superior! I'll look to see if mine has instructions on line. It seems mine is over 80 years old!

otterine
Ran across some old costume pics, so I made a post about one of the gowns inspired by The Lady and the Unicorn. http://www.otterine.com/blog/blog3.php/the-lady-and-the-unicorn
