Ron, I think you've hit just the right balance between architecture and embellishment. The true genius of an artist is knowing when to stop. :).

It would gild the lily. It's just beautiful as it stands.

Just possibly some tiny highlighting what's there, in an understated way, with one of your lighter colors...

oh yes, a new shed style roof over the balcony door and a little balcony under the windows on the small dormer.

Thanks for following along!

I think Ron's been building on that particular house since last year. Any nibbles yet, Ron?

havanaholly, your right i've been on this house about 1 1/2 years now. and no calls on this carson house yet. but then i'm not ready to offer it for sale yet. i did get several calls on the garrison when i put it up for sale. most wanted me to drop the price. the thing is i like it too, so i'll keep it. i did get into a local magazine here in florida, that was fun. also recieved a e-mail from alicia arnold at magilla entertainment out of new york city on broadway no less. she is trying to start a new show for cable tv. a DOLLHOUSE show just for us. she's been pushing this idea for about a month now. last i heard there was a big meeting of top brass in L.A. last week. she has not heard what they decided yet. i'll let everyone know what i find out.

Sure is cool to view it that way. Love all the little nooks and crannies and secret spots all tucked in here and there. What a great deal of time this is taking but worth every minute of investment I'm sure. Beautiful.

Ron, your attention to detail is amazing! Looking at the house this way is like reading a complex Victorian detective novel -- you never know what's going to turn up as you move around it!

      Hello!

I'm currently working on my first dollhouse. I bought this already assembled and have noticed there are hinges in the corners of most of the rooms (photos attached) some of which stick out quite  bit. I am wondering if anyone has suggestions for how to hide these as I don't want them to show under my wallpapers. (it seems as if they were used to pull the corners of the dollhouse walls together)

      Thanks!

      Hi,

I am currently working on my first dollhouse. It is an Alison Jr. I am hoping to handpaint and illustrate my own wallpaper and am not sure where to start. What paper is recommended? Also wondering if a seal, specific glue is required. I was hoping to make individual entire wall sized paintings (probably with watercolour paint) that will mount to the walls as wallpaper (and won't fade over time).

I have built a bunch of mini homes but I think the last one I did was over 4 years ago.  I really want to get back into it, I have tons of kits that I have great ideas for but I am feeling a little panic.  I just have not done this in so long I feel like I am going to screw it up somehow.  Starting with a Buttercup cottage for a 4 year old relative.  Looking for some good tips and maybe a few words of encouragement!
      Thanks!

      Hi everyone,
I am happy to join this community of all things miniature.
A little about myself: I have a very creative mind. Ever since I was a kid, I collected toys and simulated battles or adventure stories. I think that miniatures helped me escape from reality and I was able to create my own world. However, growing up, I lost touch of this passion of mine. I hope to rediscover this passion by exploring other people's creative worlds.
First 2 questions: Where do you usually buy your miniatures and what do you look for ?
