Hello everyone -

I'm new to this forum and am in need of help. I recently bought a Dura-craft Heritage, to make for my daughter, on craigslist to find that a bunch of the parts are missing. Yeah...I got duped.

Does anyone know where I can find replacement parts? I'm missing the following parts, as indicated in the Inventory List:

  1. Part No. HR-1 through HR-18 (18 stamped sheets of shingles) these are needed for the structure of the house
  2. Part No. 6-31 (1 silkscreened sheet of windows)
  3. Part No. 5-150 (1000 plain shakes 1 1/8" roof shakes)
  4. Part No. 5-151 (20 fancy shakes 1 1/8")
  5. Part No. 6-2 (56 small dowels 1/8"x2")
  6. Part No. 5-141 (18 Brackets)
  7. Part No. 6-19 (1 bundle of hardwood flooring)
  8. Part No. 5-2 (96" of large corner post)
  9. Part No. S5-2 (12" of small corner post)
  10. Part No. 5-1 (28" of large edge trim)
  11. Part No. 5-144 (3 pc. 1/2"x1/2"x8 1/8" molding)
  12. Part No. 5-41 (2" of medium trim)
  13. Part No. 6-17 (2 door knobs)
  14. Part No. 7-2 (9 oz. brick powder)
  15. Part No. 7-1 (9' Brick template)
  16. Sheet No. HR-14 (Have it, but it is damaged beyond usability)

Hi Brian! Welcome to the forum!

I'm sorry you are missing so many pieces to your Heritage. Unfortunately, Duracraft is out of business now.

Many of those pieces listed have suitable substitutes.

Any shingles can be used, and shingles can be purchased at any dollhouse store, the Greenleaf Store, miniatures.com, even Hobby Lobby.

The silkscreened windows are clear thin pieces of acetate. Many alternatives for that. You can buy sheets at a train or hobby store (again, Hobby Lobby I think have these), you can use clear packaging from products or food, or you can use transparencies. You can keep them plain, create your own silkscreen with paint or a white sharpie, or use this opportunity to create your own stained glass windows! You can get fancy and use gallery glass, or find a design you like and print it on a transparency.

I imagine you can find wooden dowels at craft and hobby stores (Hobby Lobby)

The hardwood flooring that comes in Duracraft kits is nice, but not irreplaceable. You can score the floorboards before assembly and stain, use skinny sticks, or purchase hardwood flooring in sheets from a dollhouse store. The Greenleaf store sells flooring as well, along with the other stores I have mentioned.

Probably the trim can be substituted with strip wood. miniatures.com sells strip wood, as does Michael's, Hobby Lobby. Crown molding is sold at dollhouse stores, or you could just use strip wood.

Door knobs are available at dollhouse stores, also Greenleaf. Or make you own with beads.

The brick stuff is called Magic Brik. You can find it on eBay, or other dollhouse stores. Or you can use anything else you want for your foundation. Spackle makes bricks or stone when they are carved in, or stucco. Dollhouse stucco is available from Greenleaf. You can use paperclay for brick or stones. Cut egg cartons into brick or stone shapes. Or just paint it.

For the corner posts, contact this eBay seller. http://stores.ebay.c...sid=p4340.l2563

He has some Duracraft pieces.

The brackets are probably just cosmetic. You can purchase some if you want some. You may like it without.

Hope this helps! :) Have fun!

Hi Brian. I had a Heritage with the same disease. I have a bag of shingles, not sure how many, but I think they're the plain shakes. You can have them, but I'd ask that you pay postage (I'm in Australia). I might also have the brackets but would need to check. Manchester Dollhouse Woodworks makes replacement mouldings and they're a good reliable seller:

http://manchesterdollhouseandwoodworks.com/

You can also get brick powders and stencils from Bromley Craft Products: http://www.craft-products.com/

If you wanted an easier option, you could use impress moulds from Malcolm's Miniatures and use an air dry clay:

You may not have a lot of luck getting the window sheets though. Mine have really yellowed.

Do introduce yourself at the Newcomers' Forum when you have a minute. You can also use acrylic paints thinned with gel medium to the consistency of transpparent watercolors to paint your own stained glass; I did this on an Arthur. You can also use Houseworks windows & doors in the sizes colse to those on your Heritage. One of our members, Dawn, also sells the Bromley System stencils and powders for brick & stone; the Bromley sstencils are plastic and can be used indefinitely with spray adhesive, unlike the Magic Brik & Magic Stone, with their paper templates which disintegrate if they stay wet too long (g'ahead, ask me how I know this...); I now use sandpaper for brickwork and spackle for stones.

Hello,

i was given a heritage classic hr560 dollhouse as a gift many many years ago and it was never put together. We just found out we're going to have a niece this year so we thought we'd put it together for her as a gift. I'm missing the two 15" siding pieces and was wondering if anyone had any idea where I might be able to get them?

thanks so much :)
