angie q
I want to put siding on my Garfield and was wondering what the best options are for products, I know it is a large house and would love to hear opinions on single strips vs. whole panels. Also how much I would need to cover the entire house roughly?
sparklepuppies
I have not used the whole panels for siding, so I can't give any opinion there. I do like the look of siding though. According to Greenleaf's page, the Garfield requires 12 bags of siding. http://shop.greenleafdollhouses.com/Wooden-Garfield-Dollhouse-Kit.html
Gonzo
I am with you, Angie. I just picked up a Garfield as a craigslist find and the siding will cost me more than the kit did (kit -- $50 ... siding -- $60 for 12 bags). I have thought about stone and stone texture paint, but will have to experiment a little to see how it looks. I really like the "vintage" look, but half of the fun is changing things around. havanaholly
I LOVE the Greenleaf siding strips, but for a house as huge as the Garfield I'd die of boredom before I'd side the entire house with strips! I think I'd do a brick or stone treatment for the first floor and then siding for the second and shaped shingles for the third.
angie q
Thanks for the input, still thinking about it ;) Not sure what I will do but I still have time before I need to decide.
