Mod Podge

I was just wondering if anyone uses Mod Podge in their houses? I'm a newbie and I want to use what is on hand in my home incase this hobby doesn't work out for me. I've used it before to seal wood before painting so I know that it's useful for that application, but will it be detrimental to my dollhouse later on?

I have used it for gluing wallpaper...that was a HUGE/GIGANTIC mistake for me...ONLY BECAUSE...I later changed my mind about the wallpaper...and Mod-Podge is not waterbased...so it didn't come down...at all...

I recently used Mod-Podge to seal some things that I have for my 1/2 scale Bungalow...so far, so good...but long term? I don't know that yet...

I did choose Mod-Podge over spray sealers, because every spray sealer that I have found has a warning saying "this contains a product that the state of California says causes cancer"...something to that effect...so I figured that if it causes cancer in California, it will cause cancer in Massachusetts, (where I live...)

I use it for lots of dollhouse stuff. Love mod podge. Obviously not to put a house together...but I have used it for sealing wood and wallpaper,etc.,etc. The best glue to have on hand for building is Aleens Tacky Glue and a good wood glue. With those 3 glues you can do anything dollhouse related...in my opinion:)

I too love Mod-Podge...and I have used it to glue a very small house together.Mostly

cause I ran out of my usual Elmer's Wood Glue. But I use MP for sealer, wallpaper,

and I'm decoupaging a whole house exterior so yes, I use it a lot!!

I was using mod podge a lot and then one day the surface that I had used it on seemed a little tacky. Before that I had never had a problem. I don't think it was due to humidity, but I could be wrong about that. Since then, I haven't used it as much - I found a brush on bottle of something else, but still prefer the mod podge, just worry about the tackiness.

I had the same problem with tackiness when I used glossy mod podge to coat the surface of some granite counter tops I printed out. I've used it before for floors with no problem, but for some reason the counters came out sticky.
