New Day
So, I finally dove into the Das that I have had forever. Don't know what I was afraid of, it is amazing stuff! I'm not sure if the strong smell is worth the savings over the brand name Paperclay, but no one else in the family seemed to mind, so we'll see. So far I have just done a test piece on scrap wood to try out different techniques - "Makins" brand texture sheets, sculpted smooth stones and bricks. I love it! My question is - can you use paper clay over Builder's Foam? I would think you could, but I can't find anything with the search feature, so thought I'd ask. Thanks! KathieB
I have used it over builder's foam. I spread a thin layer of Aileen's Tacky Glue on the foam, but I'm not sure it's necessary. If you rough up the foam a bit -- scratch it gently -- the DAS/Paperclay should cling to the surface as it dries.

havanaholly
I think Tracy used paperclay over bufoam in her Haunted House build.
New Day
Thanks Holly. Looks like Tracy used foam core board, covered with Easy Form plaster strips and then paperclay. I already have foam core board....
Caseymini
You really should use glue under it. I have used DAS for years and if you don't, you run the risk of it cracking and falling away from the base. It doesn't have to be much, but enough to be sure that it is bonding.Plain old Elmer's will work.
