dollfie63
I stained the shingles and door today, I like the result. I used cedar shingles for it's rustic appeal with irregular wood cuts and color. I also cut the window openings bigger to accomodate the new windows...this time I double checked the window size and opening lol. The color sheme is one I actually used on a house I used to live in, this will be a house of bold colors. I'm almost tempted to turn it into a miniature toy shop. I'm getting the "Kotton Kandy" house by Melissa & Doug for christmas so that will be the new home of Mr. & Mrs. Milliput (my Heidi Ott dolls) lol. Roxxie
Oh oh that sounds familiar! ha ha welcome to our world! A year ago I decided I was only going to build ONE dollhouse. PS I have done two plus 10 other projects since. I have one on the table and one coming in the mail....

joannie
oh your little house is adorable! I love that colour scheme! I did a Kotton Kandy (my first build!) and turned it into a little "playhouse" for my baljointed dolls Faith and Ricky!
havanaholly
Hmmm... Build just ONE? I think that was what my Dura-Craft Cambridge was supposed to be. I got started with GL houses when I was asked to build a little dh for a MOD fund-raiser auction at work and built my first Buttercup. I wound up building & selling three more Buttercups and two Sugarplums before Dean invited me to join the GL Building Team, and I got to build & blog several houses I might not have otherwise have gotten to build (and would LOVE to keep & play with them ALL!) Needless to say that over the years I have accumulated a humongous pile of kits to build, despite my criteria being that the kit has to speak to me before I get it, so I resist adding to them. This being a hobby, a dh need NEVER be "done"! If you build for someone else, do so with an eye to theyr changing it eventually.

LLyn M.
Yup, this is a really nice little project.I never saw an ADAMS built before..I like it ! Your shingles are great as is the color you chose. And as for finishing before another kit comes......HA! After most of us "finish" a project we start the TWEAKING...you know, change this and that ...this phase can last forever! Just have fun. Momof2Moos
Your shingles are beautiful! I wish mine had turned out that well on my first house. And the color of the house is great. IMO, it's great just how it is.

I have ideas to make flower boxes for the windows and maybe a short step on the front door, the decorating will be the fun part but it'll take time as this hobby does start to get expensive lol. Just when I think I'm starting to get near the finish line new ideas pop into my head. Edited December 19, 2010 by dollfie63
havanaholly
Being a hobby, part of the fun is learning to make all the new things, like the flowers & plants for your flower boxes.
