firef2005
So, I've put together most of one dormer window for my Lily roof/attic. When I set it on the roof, there are big gaps on either side, no matter how I position it. I don't think I put it together wrong, I think it's just the house. I had a tough time with the roof, so the slope may not be exactly correct. Is the dormer supposed to sit inside the window opening, or on the roof around the opening? Any suggestions as to how to fill the gaps? I've wallpapered the inside of the window and really don't want to mess it up, as it's extremely diffficult to get your hands inside it if I had to redo anything. havanaholly
I haven't built the Lily so I can't help you. You could use 1/8" stripwood to trim the dormer opening from inside and lap it so the dormer will sit on it. Spackle is another way to fill the gaps, or wood putty.
