KathieB
Perhaps recessed lights in the ceiling in front of each niche, aimed into the niche? I'm fond of spotlights in a mini room to highlight special areas.
havanaholly
What about a single, larger bulb like a night light or appliance bulb?

pdlnpeabody
Perhaps recessed lights in the ceiling in front of each niche, aimed into the niche? I'm fond of spotlights in a mini room to highlight special areas. That would probably produce the best effect, considering that the niches will have wine racks in them. The problem would be in changing the bulbs. The sliding wall will be 2" lower than the room's ceiling. Otherwise it would protrude out of the "ground." The space directly above the niches will be covered with decorative brick work and then the turret windows. If I could somehow anchor the windows to the ajoining walls and make the brick work one removable piece, the lights would be servicable. Obviously this would require a very complex design feature for 4 small lights that will only light the top of the racks.
