Hallowell
I've always loved the Heritage but I've never liked the layout of the upstairs rooms or the staircase. Well I bought a partially built Heritage a few months ago and started playing around with the upstairs room layout. I took a few pictures of what I have come up with so far. I would love an honest opinion of what you think, it's still a work in progress. Oh, the wallpaper is definitely going bye, bye. http://www.greenleafdollhouses.com/forum/i...&album=2522
havanaholly
It's nice to see I'm not the only one who likes to add walls!

KathieB
Greg, I really like the way you've broken up that top floor. And the way the window in the room on the right is showcased by the archway ... lovely! I'm assuming that's a bathroom behind the door on the left side? ... will the inside be seen? Hallowell
Thanx Kathie I was thinking of putting a small bathroom back there and the is just enough room, but because it would be so hard to se and access I think I may just partially decorate that room and with a sink and toilet and let the imagination do the rest. The room in front is going to be an office/den with an in incredible desk (when I find the perfect desk) and lots of bookcases from floor to ceiling filled with the classics. Corwin
It always nice to do something different. In my Garfield I added a hallway connecting the master with a hall to the kids room, it irked me that you would have to go in the bath to the the master or the kids room, a hallway bugs me less. Wolfie
The heritage is a lovely house Greg, and you are doing a fabulous job with yours! I love that house! I had one you know until daughter's boyfriend fell on it and crushed it. .......not a pretty sight seeing her mother in tears clutching the pieces to her bosom while heading for the dumpster. There was literally nothing left of it. Nothing you could glue. He was a big guy and fell straight across the roofline. I was soooooooooooooo mad and sad. I could have killed him. Anyway your Heritage is fabulous! I would love to get another one!
Hallowell
Thanx Gina. I do remember that sad story of the crushing. But I bet you will eventually get another. It's so worth getting one even thought the build is not as clean as a Greenleaf kit.

shannonc60
That looks great. I too have a Heritage kit for a future build and I hope to add a second room upstairs in the front gable too. Glad to see someone else doing a dry run for me!!
havanaholly
I saw a dh in a shop once with a complete bathroom that had been added to the house, that you could open its door to peek in, or you could move a couple of small pieces of furniture in the outer room and open the bathroom wall for accesss, and I was hooked! Hallowell
Hi Suzanne I'm going to replace the wallpaper upstairs with some beautiful paper that Debra shared with us in her gallery. I already have some printed and ready to go.
