Luanne
I am thinking about adding paperclay to the birdhouse- How well would paperclay hold up in the Texas heat, rain? Is this a bad idea?
cjack
Yup, bad idea! I'm in Texas and I think we get lucky that concrete holds up!
Charlene
Not a good idea -- it will melt away in the rain and probably scare the poor birdies right into therapy.

Luanne
You mean you never have thoughts like that? ok it's frequent for me. Thanks a bunch.
chesterfieldzoo
Actually I think the concept is a good one. To add some texture to the house. Paperclay is like papermache' and it is water soluable. You would have a large sticky, gooey mess. Were you looking for a stone look? How about gluing on pea gravel? Or small pieces of shale? If you are looking for texture, how about just adding sand to your paint? Please tell us more what your goal is. I am sure we could all brainstorm and come up with something good. Ed_Cal
For an easy texture add a little No Slip additive to outdoorr housepaint....it willl give you the texture of smooth finish stucco and feels like stucco to boot. Ed
