What are you up to today? This week?

After reading about Mike from the UK  I feel like my issues are small.   I have been scanned and prodded, tested and finally saw a pain management specialist on Tuesday for my hip.  I don't need a hip replacement ( another blessing) but I will need a couple of different kinds of treatments ending with killing off the nerves around the joint.  This is all going to take quite a few months of waiting again but at least I am on a track to improvement I hope.  Anyway,  going day to day is the only way to go.

One of our favorite state parks is Henderson Beach in Destin.  Favorite eating place is Joe's Crab Shack.  The Air Force Armament Museum is in nearby Valparaiso and Ft Walton Beach has an Indian mound right downtown.  Maybe next time you could give me a heads up and we could get together.

Visiting our son snd DIL.  He just bought a house in Navarre.  Super nice place.

I just wanted to share to those people suffering from severe joint pain due to osteoarthritis or osteonecrosis. My son has been dealing with pain levels of 6 to 7 in his hip for months. He has had to move home so we could assist him with daily life. On Tuesday, he had a treatment called PRP (platelet rich plasma) which uses your own platelets to lubricant the joint. Today is day 4 and he is completely pain free. I highly recommend it!

Sable, that's wonderful news! Praying that the treatment is long lasting.

Trapped inside today by the rain. Had planned to work in the mini garden (it's about 7'x 3') but yesterday's heavy rain turned the newly turned ground (which is mostly sand) into sludge. I got two of the four bags of soil put in place yesterday but again, it is now way too soggy to mess with. Rain, rain, go away, come again another day!

Whatever I acquired earlier this week finally resoved itself into something I could take to the walk-in clinic and get a Rx for antibiotic, so hopefully I can shake this mess at last.

Today the weather really was promising spring so we have been spring cleaning the garden, ie raking lever and preparing for installing one of those sweet little lawn mowrs that strolls around all the time, we'll call it Hugo :) and then Hubby washed both cars on the exterior and I vaccumed the interior and then back to raking leaves... Now I have blisters in both hands but oh the joy of spring ;)

so a quiet evening doing nothing much and I am betting My hands will be "Killing" me in the morning, but I suppose it is worth it along with the sore back muscles...

hugs

Just beautiful here....70!     Windy....dust blowing.....we don't have Spring......we have WIND season!

Cleaning, laundry...........busy working on the walls filling cracks, sanding.....this is on my real house.    I refuse to pay the contractor $700 to fill in a few cracks!    Me and my spackle knife are doing fine!

Tonite is "Date Night" for Hubby and I!  :)

Sunday afternoon he was going to take me to see the new Disney movie "Zootopia" (ok, so I am a middle-aged Disney fan!)....but apparently all the kiddos were having their dad's do the same thing: the show we wanted to attend was sold out and we didn't want to stay for the next one.  So we are going out to dinner tonite and then gonna try the movie theatre again.

It should get me into a good mood for the next day:  I have to take my dad to the heart failure clinic for a special appointment because he was having such issues over the weekend....looks like we will be discussing hospice care again.

Missing the Jazz Gumbo tonight whilst I continue my fight with the respiratory infection.  It has been more than 12 years since my last one (before I retired) and I had blissfully forgotten just how socially unacceptable I become!

Worked on organizing the studio and am very near finished with my side of the room. Lloyd hovers protectively (defensively) in his area if I so much as look over that way. Oh, well, at least he's managed to stow away some of his stuff. Also cooked the red beans that L bought several weeks ago. Tomorrow I think the tiny garden will be dry enough to dig and plant. More rain due on Thursday, so need to get this done asap.

We are in Vero Beach on a day by day basis. "Anyone want to go home tomorrow?" with a response of "Not yet". Why would they? It's beautiful weather and we really have nothing to go home to so we are just vegging.  Also, we just don't  get up here like we used to. So it's good to have the beach cottage come to life every once and a while. I would like to start renting it out, but I also do not want strangers in my house.

Will be starting this morning by picking up My parents-in-law and drive them to the AirPort in Copenhague as the will be visiting My brother-in-lag and his wire over the Easter Holidays.

Then a couple of hours at work and then a four day long Holiday.

I dug out my lamb cake mold and will be baking today or tomorrow. I love decorating it for Easter. It's too much for the two of us to eat, so I'll be taking it to cousin Gloria to share with her family. We'll be returning her shovel on Saturday and I told her I'd pay her back with interest. :)

Show us a picture Kathie when you're done! Sounds cute!

For some reason Easter is barely on my radar this year as far as preparing dinner, desserts, or decorating. :( At the beginning of the month I thought about baskets and such, bought a little candy, but nothing since. At least I got the grandbaby's done while he was visiting. And at this point, I may not even have any of my kids at home Easter morning, that will be a first. I usually make a Faberge egg cake, we'll see if I get my motivation this year.

Cutting and fitting the baseboard for the downstairs rooms, [ back tracking because I had a hard time deciding which baseboard to go with, am really liking the finished look with this base board.] Also casting windows for the last bay window and working on the 3rd floor layout, even cut the peaks and tested out how many windows I can use there. I will only be able to use the upper half of my Gothic windows, a double window will fit front and side facing peaks.

Kayaked across the Indian River Lagoon with my two sons today just before the rains came. It was a little choppy but this 61 year old did quite well. My sons actually had a hard time keeping up. Wimps.

Back in January my laptop was freezing up repeatedly several times a day for a week, so I started shopping for a replacement because it was considered old for a laptop anyway. Suddenly my laptop started behaving again. It would only freeze twice a week every week. I was able to live with that.

This past week it started going crazy again, freezing repeatedly up to 6 times a day all week long. The threat of being replaced by a spanking brand new laptop didn't scare it any, it just kept sputtering and freezing, so I got a new baby laptop yesterday. It folds up neatly so I can use it like a tablet. So far I'm very happy, it has several ports, including a micro HDMI port so I can plug it into the TV. Speaking of HDMI, if you ever need to buy a micro HDMI cable for one of your devices, be aware that prices for these cables run anywhere from $3.00 to $60.00. We were shocked. Naturally, I got a $3.00 cable. - Just wanted to pass that price range info on.

Sable, when our youngest son went biking with us down the St Mark's Trail he got so tired he fell off his bike less than a third of the way back to Tallahassee and I had to stay with him whilst his dad rode back to get the truck.  He rarely rides with us any longer.  On the other hand, his older brother & wife went out and got themselves a kayak after paddling with us on their Occoquan Reservoir.

If you can find a guide to led you, do the paddle up to Trapper Nelson's; it's gorgeous!

Well, it looks like I've gone and got sick. :( That makes me sad.

I did find out that both my boys will be home for Easter this weekend, so that makes me happy. Apparently when Lawson and his friends made plans and invited Brennen, no one realized it was Easter weekend. So Lawson will be coming home from school for the weekend. Yay.

If I keep feeling like this though, there may not be an Easter cake to show Kathie. So somebody else might have to show her a picture in order for us to see her lamb cake!

Tracy, I feel your pain.  I am beginning to recover from a nasty "bug" that moved in after a monster allergy attack our last day at Gulf State Park and I'm finishing up a week on antibiotics (three days to go0.
