Muriel
Well, sneezing has stopped, but cold still here. Running nose is now blocked nose, and need to cough every so often. My ribs and surrounding tissue is still really sore from all the sneezing (and coughing). Went into work this morning, but came home at lunch to rest. Chris' nan gave us a cute little baby doll for my niece to play with while she's visiting, but the short hair is falling out (it must be at least 20 years old). So I went to the goodwill store and picked up a few balls of wool, a crochet needle and some knitting needles. So I am working on a little hat for the doll that we can glue on to keep her head warm (so you don't see the hair holes) and my friend gave birth to a little girl over christmas, so will try and make something for her too. Might have to try and find a pattern online! Muriel
Sherry
The flyswatter is done and hanging in my pantry-photo in my other projects album. I even made a little pegrack to hang it on! Lots of work for such a minor thing, but I think every pantry needs a flyswatter!
Muriel
I have a question for all you knitters and moms out there... how big do I need to make the back of a jumper for a 3 month old? Like how many cm or inches would it be along the bottom hem and how long from bottom to neck? Thought i'd get knitting, but can't be bothered to try and find a pattern i can actually read. Sherry
measure one that is already made. I carry a tape measure in my purse to measure manufactured items and see what size they are. Just pay a visit to the baby department at the local store! If you get questioned about it, hang the item back up and say 'darn, the arms are 6 inches too short'. While they're trying to decide what kind of creature you are making a sweater for, you can disappear down the aisle.
Muriel
Lol! yeah, they will certainly look at me strangely! Full time work doesn't allow a lot of time for shopping though, so was hoping someone might know on here. But I'm shopping saturday so can look out then. bookmarm
I worked on the colonial roombox and finished the walls and flooring. Also cleaned up my GL albums, added a few photos and deleted some older ones. We're still dealing with an ailing oven, so I'm trying to come up with good dinner ideas for the stove top. Wolfie's potsticker recipe might lure me out to the grocery store.
AuntDee
Muriel, Have you Goggled "knitting"? I have found free patterns on different sites. Also, enter the brand of yarn you use. Those companies have free patterns of their sites. You might find patternsyou can get measurements from.. Rita
havanaholly
I have wallpapered the center section of the Travel Trailer, still have to wait until it dries to trim the divider walls & figure out how I'm going to install the bathroom door. I also got the large screen window done. I'm still separating candlewicking yarn into single strands.
Sherry
I made the mistake of explaining to my grandson how the acorn he found under the tree in front would grow up to be a tree if he planted it. Next thing I know, he's trying to dig a hole in the ground with his fingers! We got out the potting soil and pot, and planted his acorn. He says he already sees growth...could be, it's been 15 minutes now!
Merry
I've been trying to finish making my own dollhouse wallpaper, and figuring out why I just don't go and buy some for crying out loud! I'm also washing my hands alot because I keep thinking of worms in my body!!!
Muriel
Yay, finally updated my Willows gallery and posted an update or two in the Willows thread. Chris is sound asleep on the chair in front of the tv. I should be sound asleep in bed too, but somehow doing gallery updates kinda takes over! Better go sleep, long day tomorrow. Night night all
heidiiiii
I made the mistake of explaining to my grandson how the acorn he found under the tree in front would grow up to be a tree if he planted it. Next thing I know, he's trying to dig a hole in the ground with his fingers! We got out the potting soil and pot, and planted his acorn. He says he already sees growth...could be, it's been 15 minutes now! He can come to my house in the spring. Dang things! I spend about 2 hours total pulling those sprouts out of the yard. I know I am not old but all I think about is I am going to have to hire somebody to do this eventually or I will be inundated with oak trees. Acorns and those dang helicopter things that fall off the trees. They will sprout a tree in two years (that is hard to pull out) if you do not get to it. It is cute though about him. If they are still living in your area, you should teach him the fine art of gardening. My Dad did it for me when I was young and it never went away. Sherry
I already told him we would plant flowers as soon as it gets warm. I started his daddy and uncle gardening at an earlier age, so we have to play catch up! Back to school today, and I'm so congested I can hardly breathe. Anytime I get in a dusty place like our garage or the storage building, I get this way...D@## allergies!
AuntDee
Today John and I celebrate our 38th wedding anniversary! How fast the years have gone! We will really celebrate on Saturday. Tonight it will be a quiet evening at home. Rita

Anna
Congratulations Rita! Well, I have just spent some time to catch up on the forum, reading alll the threads after being away on a training/course day today. A great day but sheesh the brain is on overload... All those rules and regulations and today's topic people in groups, reactionsdifficulties and strewnght and how to deal with it all... Yikes to say the least but still ever so interesting. Driving home was a bit iffy as the temperature once again had dropped below freezing temps and it was somewhat black ice here and there so the usual hour's drive took a bit longer. Awaiting me when coming home was one of those "sorry you weren't home" notices from the postal guys so will have to swing by tomorrow to fetch that. havanaholly
Glued to the TV today watching history as the US finally enters the 20th Century, politically. I have Dena's "goodie" almost half done and a belated Chrissy pressie from one of my Forum family members (when I get the pictures processed I'll tell all about it!) showed up on our doorstep. heidiiiii
I found out yesterday just how far away Chris lives from us... He lives over an hour and 1/2 away. He drove down here one day during a snow storm to see her. Almost a three hour drive round trip. His parents sometimes go for the ride to get dropped off at the casino. His father may be able to get her some of the sold out Britney Spears tickets. Nat will be happy. Then Chelsea spent almost $100 for a new cell phone so she could text faster. She was never ever a texter. And she is a cheapskate when it comes to spending money.. B) Fred and I are peeling back the layers of the onion. His parents are much more affluent then Chelsea has ever been used to. (WAY MORE!) His father is in home improvement..mainly flooring. Guess what we need to have done downstairs? Flooring. Fred is ecstatic! I am staying out of that one..LOL Today I have no idea what I am going to do. Probably paint another coat on the LE and pull out the outside trim for sanding. They still have not told me what the little girl likes for colors.I think I will just paint the outside like I am thinking and the interior can be in the colors that she likes. I am so glad this house does not have stairs! I am not in the mood for stairs and it will give her more room for play.
bookmarm
taking my mom to a funeral in the low country. Her last sibling died at 96 (Mom is 90). She was one of 10. Most reached grand old ages before they passed away.
Sherry
Just back to school and then home again to do dinner and laundry...I sure hope we can get into some sort of routine here...you shouldn't wake up as tired as when you went to bed! havanaholly
Gayle, I know what you mean. DH's momma is 84 and her last brother passed two years ago. She was the youngest of her father's two dozen children, and except for two who died in infancy and one that swallowed kerosene and a couple of breast cancers, the rest lived well into their 90s. We have our paddling club meeting tonight, so last night I cooked DS' ham & DH sliced it and put it up in storage bags and we'll take it & drop it back off at his house on our way. (DH went over there Monday to change the locks and replace the heating element on his stove, which still doesn't work, and survey how much damage to former roommate inflicted. I was planning to take a tub of spackle & my putty knife, but we're going to have to buy some drywall and pathc huge sections of walls (I'll be spackling the patches) and replacing at least one door, frame & all. At one point there were massive plumbing problems and the carpet all had to go, I want to replace ALL the flooring with new tile/ linoleum throughout.) It's really godawful cold out there today, I'm thinking of hunkering back down in my shell & pulling in heads, hands & feet. We're planning to go hiking Friday AM and the forecast is 70! But today it's only going into the 30s, maybe...
TinyJudi
Work for me today. Not complaining either. I am happy to get my hours back. At one point I was down to 25 hours a week from 40. That really hurt. Talk about tightening the belt. After work I may do more food creating. I keep telling DH that I have nowhere to put all this food...I am gonna need a new house to build. He just shakes his head...no, no shaking...start nodding .
KathieB
Today we're going to Sedalia once again. Lloyd has only 6 more radiation treatments counting today. My friend NJ is going with us. We'll have lunch at a wonderful coffee/wine shop/deli and ship off my granddaughter's birthday package at UPS. When we get back, I'll start the bread machine then head downstairs to work on minis for the first time in weeks. Yesterday a present from Lloyd arrived from DeJoux Miniatures. In it were kits for lasercut Craftsman/Stickley dining table and four chairs (for the Westville Craftsman), 3 wash stands (for the Pierce/Bohemian bar/restaurant/boarding house), 2 Chrysenbom chamber pot sets (for the washstands), 2 Chrysenbom Victorian bathroom sets (for the Pierce and the Beacon Hill/New Orleans mansion), a Chrysenbom cookstove kit (no assignment yet), and a 1/2" scale metal cookstove for the little elf in the White Orchid. As I was thinking about which items will go where, it occured to me that my craft area is organized very inefficiently. Instead of organizing by materials or furniture/accessories by type of room, it all ought to be organized by HOUSE. That way I'll know what wallpaper, furniture, siding, shingles, accessories, etc. I already have. NJ the obsessive-compulsive gave me a gift certificate for a day's work for my birthday. I think I'll rope her into helping me with this.
