First of all I would like to say how delighted I am to find a forum that discusses dollhouses!

I live in Bend Oregon, have a pile of grandkids and am semi retired a perfect time in my life to build a dollhouse!

My first dollhouse was a kit I built 20 years ago for my daughter and I have always wanted to build another one just for me. I was looking around on Craigs list and found a Duracraft San Franciscan brand new and still in the unopened box for 50.00. Dont you know I was on the phone and driving down the street in a heart beat!

So far I have the walls up floors in and all of that primered. I am working on sanding and primering all the window pieces. I have the roof put together and am waiting to finish painting the window and door frames before I beging installing them. I just cant seem to settle on a color. I am going to the paint store in the morning and hope to begin with the real painting tommorow evening.

I have been scouring the internet for any and all information as I have been waiting for glue and paint to dry. I am glad I found in several places to primer/paint the whole house before you put it totally together. I should add here that I did not paint any places where I know I will need to glue pieces together. I am sure I will have a million questions about this house but I will save those for the Duracraft forum

Back to reading all the wonderful posts I feel like a kid in a candy store and have already found answers to several things I was not sure about.

Hi and ! The San Franciscan is a great house. Do you know which number you have? I built the SF557--the last model. You can paint before building or after building. Everyone has their own way of doing it. Enjoy!!
