  3. Hi, My name is Erica and I recently ordered the Greenleaf Willow kit (due to arrive tomorrow), as well as purchased a partially complete Greenleaf Garfield (which is HUGE!!!!). The Garfield has quite a bit of damage and work that needs to be done so it is more of a restoration/build. Super excited to join this group and build my dollhouses. I'm 32 years old and have never had one for myself, and I have two boys so I figured I better make one for me since I probably won't have a daughter. I live in San Diego, CA. I have two boys age 10 and 7... and a small boston terrier named Rox
  4. I am stuck on the construction of the chimney in the willow - the instructions leave me guessing. I have added the sides but don't know what to do with the following pieces 2 chimney back sides 4 pieces of chimney top sides (each agout 1" bu 3/4 ") Chimney back and fancy scroll pieces which I assume go in top but not according to picture. Thanks, Just Grandpop (Joe)
  5. Someone said there was an alternate set of willow instruction that were better than what came with the kit. How do I get them? I am having problems with the chimneys and can't figure out the pieces. Joe
  6. This will be my second dollhouse, I just built the Harrison for my 3 granddaughters' Christmas present. I did find the blogs until way late in the game and man could I have done a better job if I had found them. I am doing the Willow not (for a charity auction) and am very nervous so any help/suggestions would be most appreciated. Just Grandpop
  7. I have Merlin (and his Griffin) and an un-allocated Willow Kit in my arsenal. The Willow seems WAY too plain for all the magickal mayhem associated with a legendary wizard. So I am appealing to your wildest imaginings for help! I have in mind a tower somewhere in the structure: wacky, challenging the laws of physics and definitely very wizardly. There needs to be a huge, dramatic and dangerous balcony without railings where he can gaze into the depths of whatever canyon will be wandering past that day Griffin needs a built-in nesting space, landing platform in
  8. From now on I'm just going to post any "work in progress" posts of my experience with my first dollhouse (the Corona Concepts, Willow) onto this thread in case anyone wants to follow along with me as I go. Hope it's ok if I post it all here! I don't want to block up the threads by making new posts all the time but I wanted it to stay all in one place. Of course I'm still posting it all at my blog as well. It's been a little while since I last updated, mostly just because life has been hectic and I haven't had the chance to get on here and post what I've already posted to my blog. But
  9. (I'm so sorry if this is not the right place to post this, I can remove it if it's not. I'm just trying to find my way around these forums and I think I'm not able to upload photos until I've been here longer... So I thought I would just create a forum post with the photos instead. Question for members: Where are we generally supposed to post our update photos and descriptions of how things are going?) Unboxing My Willow Dollhouse Kit: My dollhouse kit arrived the other day in the mail! I haven't begun work or anything yet, I'm going to study the guide a little before starting and
  10. We our a mother and daughter (9) who are excited to be starting our first dollhouse project, The Willow. We have just about finished our real house renovation and Mommy needs a project, daughter wants to be the designer on this one so she's in charge of finishes, furniture, layout, etc....looking forward to learning lots and seeing how it all turns out. We've already read great advice (like no hot glue!) and eager for any other nuggets of wisdom! thanks so much!

    Dining Rm 041912

From the album: Adventures in Willow - My First Dollhouse

A close up of the dining room (in progress). I was ecstatic with the outcome of my textured ceiling.

    Master Bed 041912

From the album: Adventures in Willow - My First Dollhouse

A close up of the master bedroom (in progress). I love the wallpaper in here! Funny thing--it wasn't what I had originally chosen. After a screw up where I transposed the two 2nd floor interior walls, I had to re-wallpaper. Unfortunately I didn't buy extra when I originally purchased my wallpaper. It figures that when I went back over a year later the pattern was discontinued. Lesson learned!

    Full Rear 041912

From the album: Adventures in Willow - My First Dollhouse

I took a very, very long break before getting back to work on my Willow. Now all the floors and walls are glued and the wiring is in place.
