  1. abloom

    Table and benches

From the album: Hansel & Gretel Buttercup

I thought I might be going too far with the Tudor look, which wasn't exactly what I first envisioned for this house. But as Havana Holly says, the house knows what it wants to be ...
  2. From the album: The Glencroft Dollhouse: Bathroom

A little scuffing up and some paint gave these fixtures just the right amount of age and charm!
  3. From the album: The Glencroft Dollhouse: Bedroom

Here is the finished bedroom all dressed up with a few of the textiles I made.
  4. From the album: The Glencroft Dollhouse: Bathroom

Heres a shot of the bathroom taken from the unfinished bedroom. The lighting coming into my studio this morning was beautiful so I couldnt resist!
  5. From the album: The Glencroft Dollhouse: Bathroom

Here is a sneak peek of my first completed wall! This wall will eventually have the sink and toilet on it. Still needs grout and a little touching up. Can't wait to share the finished bathroom with ya'll! Only 2017263628289389 tiles left to install!!
  6. From the album: The Glencroft Dollhouse: Living Room and Dining Room

I finally added the beams and finished the crown moulding in the living room! I also finished the newel post on the stairs and the bannisters. The stairs look a little shiny because I had just varnished them. I got a little impatient and didnt want to wait for it to dry to take photos.
  7. TGIF! Im am so happy with the progress of my Glencroft! I started yesterday by gluing some of the remaining facade pieces. The upstairs gables were glued in and I was able to finally make my sub-walls out of foam board for the upstairs! (See pictures below). Once I finally had the front walls all tacked, I was able to start planning the Stone Portico/Porch that I will be adding to the front. I plan on making this out of 3/4 plywood to give the walls a heavy stone thickness but at first I wanted to make it out of foam board so I can get an idea how the finished product will

    Inspiration

From the album: The Glencroft Dollhouse: Bathroom

I fell in love with this bathroom the second I came across it. I knew this was the bathroom I wanted to use as my inspiration for my Glencroft's Bathroom. I plan on making all the subway tiles by hand using various materials. (Thinking about posting a tutorial) SO stay tuned!
  9. From the album: The Glencroft Dollhouse: Living Room and Dining Room

Im starting to get a little jealous of this house. Starting to wish my actual house looked like this.
  10. From the album: The Glencroft Dollhouse: Living Room and Dining Room

Here is a full shot of the finished living room. The small hole in the center beam is for a light that I have coming in the mail. (SO I guess im not 100% done with this room)
  11. From the album: The Glencroft Dollhouse: Living Room and Dining Room

Another shot of the finished ceiling. For the white part, (before I glued in the walls) I painted the ceiling with 5 layers of white chalk paint I had leftover from a shabby chic project. Sanded it till it was paper smooth with 400 grit sandpaper, and then waxed it to seal it and give it that satin glossy look. I did the same thing for the dining room walls except I used a small brush to apply the paint and then lightly sanded so you can still see the texture to emulate plaster.
  12. From the album: The Glencroft Dollhouse: Living Room and Dining Room

I reeeealllyyy want to start furnishing!!! But I promised myself I wouldn't buy any furnishings till the house is done.
  13. From the album: The Glencroft Dollhouse: Living Room and Dining Room

The fireplace was a several step process. I used black acrylic paint to get a basecoat in the hearth and then once that dried, I used a lighter to add the final touch of realism by hovering it under an area of the fireplace that I wanted to blacken, being carful not to burn the resin of the fireplace.
  14. From the album: The Glencroft Dollhouse: Living Room and Dining Room

I picked up the Chandelier from miniatures.com, I thought it worked well with the design of the rooms.
